We have reached 8000 signatures on our petition calling for an enquiry in to dyslexia and neurodiversity. This is our biggest opportunity to influence politicians.

500 thousand New Zealanders have dyslexia and Mike Styles who is leading the petition says it's impacting 70 thousand students.

The launch of my book "Congratulations -- You have dyslexia. Great minds think differently" at Te Raukura, Kapiti Performing Arts Centre was a sell out event. i was humbled by the large number of people who showed up. Over 120 people filled the venue. My takeaway from the event is that there are many parents, grandparents and partners with a loved one with dyslexia - who are not sure quite what to do next to support their loved ones.
I presented a session on "The future is bright for people with dyslexia". The world is surely changing - and getting better for people with dyslexia - but there is still a long way to go.
There is still time to sign the petition calling the government to instigate an inquiry into dyslexia right across all parts of the economy

Being diagnosed with dyslexia can be daunting, but it’s important not to lose sight of the positives that come with your diagnosis. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle with dyslexia can be achieved through focusing on your strengths. No two dyslexic people are the same. Each person will have their own individual challenges, and each will have their own combination of advantages. In some cases, a feature which is a challenge in some situations is an advantage in others!
