One week ago today, we opened the doors to What’s Outside the Box? 2026! 💙

It was a day filled with information, connection and support, as well as a lot of fun and laughter!

Whether your youth are thinking about a career in the arts or looking for an alternative pathway before work, this is a great chance to see where creativity could take them. Our NZQA quals are all Open Entry, with no written exams or essays, it's all hands-on practical creativity, and with part-time or full-time options to suit their lifestyle.

What an amazing day yesterday was! 💙

We can’t wait to share more with you over the coming days and weeks, but today we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to those who helped open our Expo yesterday. 🌟

Naomi Yeoman is the General Manager of WellAble and heads up the Working Group behind the Expo. She works tirelessly behind the scenes to help bring the day together and is always the first to direct praise and thanks towards the rest of the team. So today, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you to Naomi for all her incredible mahi in making the Expo happen. 💙

A huge thank you to Damian Hepi-Te Huia, Manager, Integrated Services for the Ministry of Education in Wellington, who officially opened the Expo with a karakia. We really appreciated you taking the time to be there and for uplifting us as we started our day. 🙏

Gagau Annandale-Stone, MSD Regional Commissioner for Wellington, thank you for generously funding the hire of our venue for the event. Your support helped make the day possible, and we truly appreciate it. 💙

Mathias Bridgman is a key member of the Working Group behind the Expo and was also our Expo Content Coordinator for the event. Thank you for your wonderful speech, reminding us why events like this are so important, and for all your hard mahi on the day. 📸🎥

The What’s Outside the Box? Transition Expo 2026 is done! 🎉

We have lots of photos and videos to download and share over the coming weeks, but for now we just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. 💙

👏 Thank you to our amazing volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes and throughout the day.

🤝 Thank you to all our stallholders for showing up, sharing your mahi and connecting with our rangatahi.

💙 And most of all, thank you to the wonderful rangatahi, whānau, schools and support workers who came along today.

We hope you left with lots of useful information, new connections, plenty of ideas for the future — and hopefully had a lot of fun along the way! 🌟
