It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Ann White.
We all know that Ann spent her life devoted to music but more importantly, she spent her life devoted to her students and fellow musicians.
The volume of pupils Ann tutored and mentored is too greater number to guess so her loss will be felt immensely, not only amongst her students, but her peers and the Kapiti Coast district.
Ann would often be seen at the Kapiti Youth Orchestra auditions to comfort her students before they nervously carried out their musical pieces. She would volunteer many hours sitting in on rehearsals, not only for the KYO but for Paraparaumu College productions and events Not to mentioned her highly regarded position held at Orchestra Wellington.
Ann will also be remembered for her affection towards animals. She had the innate, natural knack to make all animals feel safe and loved.
I cannot measure the commitment, and love Ann gave to the KMC. This one is going to hurt and what we owe Ann is immeasurable and quite frankly, canโt be put into words. A steadfast, giving and passionate advocate for violin and music โ may you rest in peace, Ann. We are all going to miss you terribly.
We wish to send love to her family and friends but in particular, to Mary. x
