This term, Tahatai Coast School had the absolute pleasure of welcoming international students from China, South Korea, and Japan into our classrooms! 🌏✨

Having international students enriches our whole school community. They bring vibrant new languages, traditions, and perspectives, helping our tamariki learn so much more about the world around them.

Starting at a new school in a new country takes real courage. For our visitors, every day was a brave step into listening, learning, and speaking English. It’s been incredible watching them jump into classroom life, build confidence, and make lasting friendships.

A huge shoutout to our fantastic class buddies for showing kindness, guiding our visitors, and making them feel so welcome. 🤝💙

Finally, an extra special THANK YOU to our amazing Tahatai host families! Opening your homes and hearts gave our international students a truly warm, caring, and genuine Kiwi experience. 🏡

Term 3 is off to a fantastic start, and it has been wonderful to welcome our international students back to Tahatai Coast School.

It has also been exciting to welcome several new students from China, Japan, and South Korea, who have quickly settled into school life with the support of their classmates and buddies.

From reconnecting with friends and teachers to making new friendships and diving into learning, Week 1 has been filled with smiles, new experiences, and plenty of fun.

We're looking forward to another term of learning, friendship, and unforgettable memories together. 💙🌏📚✏️🎼🎨

It’s been a busy and exciting time at Tahatai Coast School! 🌊✨

Our international students have been fully immersed in learning and fun, experiencing all aspects of school life.

Inside the classroom, students have been engaged in rich, hands-on learning programmes, including specialist Art and Science & Technology lessons, helping to build curiosity, confidence and creativity.

Outside the classroom, our lunchtime electives continue to be a highlight, with students choosing from a range of activities that encourage exploration, teamwork, and new friendships. Students have also been enjoying school sports such as basketball, netball and hockey, building skills, connections and a strong sense of belonging.

Our recent cross country event was a fantastic day filled with energy, determination, and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see our international students getting involved, supporting one another, and giving it their best effort.

At Tahatai, we are proud to offer a well-rounded experience where students feel supported, included, and inspired every day.

We love seeing our international students thrive both academically and socially! 🌏💙
