Montessori Milestones Preschool A kindy that is safe, fun, loving and locally owned. Our centre is opposite Papamoa Primary School on the corner of Parton Road and Enterprise Drive. How?

We see quality as having a maximum of 20 children with 100% staff trained in Early Childhood Education. Our mission is giving your child a safe, fun and happy Montessori Kindy. Our teachers are passionate and our center is well prepared and highly resourced. Thus preparing children for life and the next milestone, including school. We follow the values to be happy, have fun, with love and respect.

Children gain confidence and independence in a rich environment including language activities that can lead to learning and discovering how to read and write. To count and add experiencing numerals and quantities into the thousands, and how to socially play together. I Kathryn discovered Montessori on my Big OE whilst in London. It is where I trained and fell in love with the Montessori method. It inspires me to see your children following their own path in their own time. I love the delightful cries of “I can do it”’ and the amusement when they discover something new along with the laughter as your children share with each other. It is a privilege to share these special moments with your children, the enthusiasm when they are motivated, the expressions only your child has and watching the development as it unfolds. I look forward to working together in partnership with you, hearing stories from home and sharing your child's environment so you too can experience what Montessori is, the activities and resources that we use. It is a respectful method for your child, to gain all the knowledge available to them, to prepare them not only for tomorrow but the future. I look forward to meeting you soon, come in and visit.

Rituals foster a sense of belonging and connection. Our 3 year olds love to play the frog 🎶 which is our daily ritual as we come together and celebrate our day. This is one little way a child can contribute and feel a sense of pride and self worth.

The children always look forward to their turn. The children contribute daily:
🧡 By helping each other.
🧡 Setting the table and deciding how to decorate this.
🧡 And by putting their toys away so others can have a turn.

Looking for some inspiration today? Have fun with ice! 🛠️🐉☃️ Find some hammers to chisel away and find some treasure. Paint on it with food colouring. Watch rainbow coloured ice in the sun and hold it tight …what happens? Great for that inquisitive mind.

Here is my three-step plan:
1️⃣ Prepare the ice with hidden objects and rainbow colours the night before.
2️⃣ Grab a drink of choice and step back and watch the magic unfold. 🛠️🐉
3️⃣ Go on a treasure hunt, find some gems (shells, feathers, and flowers) gather some containers and restart the process.
