Kia ora koutou,

Thank you all so much for supporting our Y5/6 Marketplace this year. We would love all students, whānau and the wider community to attend.

Just a reminder this is a cash only event, so please bring along your $$ - there's plenty of wonderful items to buy, activities to do and prizes to win!

Marketplace Timetable:
10:00am - Marketplace opens. Karewa students are welcome.
10:30am - Closed for morning tea. Teachers, staff, adults and ECE visitors are welcome.
11:00–11:30am - Year 2
11:30am - Years 3–4
12:00pm - Open to all
1:30pm - Marketplace closes. Year 5/6 clean up begins.

We are using the timetable above as a guide to help our younger students and those who may feel overwhelmed have a little more space to explore the Marketplace. Whanau will be welcome at all times.

Stall areas:
Hall: Food + Bake Sale + Tombola
M2, M3, M4: Arts & Crafts
M5, TMN1, TMN2 & Quad: Games & Entertainment

Our students (and teachers!) have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to make this a fun and successful event.

We are thrilled to announce the return of our tasty Kiwi Crushies, with all proceeds helping to fund the Year 5 & 6 Camp!

Choose from three refreshing flavours:
Original, Tropical and Wild Berry.

How to order:

Kiwi Crushies can be ordered via the Kindo Shop starting every Monday at 9:00 am. Please note that sales close each Friday at 9:00 am, and orders will be delivered to students during Friday lunchtime.

Enjoy a cool treat while aiding our Year 5 & 6 students on their upcoming camp adventure!

🏀🥈 SILVER FOR OUR SWISH SQUAD! 🥈🏀

What a way to finish the season! Our Year 5/6 Swish Squad took out SILVER in the Tauranga City Basketball A Grade final last night!

These kids played their hearts out and left absolutely nothing in the tank. Every possession, every defensive effort, every rebound and every sprint — they gave it everything they had.

A huge achievement against some seriously tough competition, and we couldn’t be prouder of this awesome group.

Well done, Swish Squad! What a season!

🏆 PAPAMOA WINTER TOURNAMENT 2026 🏆

We were a little too busy looking after 97 kids to remember to take many photos, sorry… But what a day!

4 sports | 10 teams | 2 venues | Social & Competitive Divisions | 97 kids!

🏐 2 Netball teams
🏀 1 Basketball team
⚽️ 4 Football teams
🏉 3 Rippa teams

A huge day of competition, teamwork, friendships, smiles and, most importantly, getting kids out there playing sport! ❤️

Days like this take a massive amount of work from our teachers, staff and Sports Coordinator behind the scenes — from admin and trials to training, communication and all the little things that make it happen.

But the biggest shout-out goes to our amazing parent coaches and managers. 👏 We value you, we appreciate you, and we genuinely couldn’t pull these days off without you! 🙌❤️

And to our 97 athletes — you were awesome!

🏀🔥 Papamoa Bounce Squad — UNDEFEATED ALL SEASON! 🏆🙌

What a season from this awesome bunch! We’re so proud of you, Bounce Squad!

These little ballers are ALL Year 1 & 2! The future of basketball at Papamoa Primary is looking seriously bright — the talent is already bouncing in the right direction! 🏀✨

And sidenote… how SHARP does our basketball kit look on these ballers?!

Over 100 of our students were out representing Papamoa Primary in sport yesterday! 🙌🏉🏀

While the majority were taking part in the Papamoa Winter Tournament, we also had this awesome group of boys representing us at the Kakahu Pekepeke Rugby 7s Tournament, hosted by Ōtūmoetai Primary School.

This is an invitational-only tournament, and we are extremely privileged to be invited to take part each year. It’s always a tough, physically demanding day of footy — and for many of these boys, it was their first experience at a tournament like this.

Seven games of 7s rugby in one day… we bet they slept well last night!

A huge well done to all the boys for getting stuck in, showing plenty of grit and representing our school so well. And a massive thank you to Matua Layton for his time, energy and expertise coaching and supporting the boys and all the parents who gave their time to support and help out.

It’s been a big week of sport and it’s only Wednesday — we’ve got a bit to share! 🏆🏀
But first up, let’s celebrate our Papamoa Little Lakers!

After a tough loss in the semi-finals last week, the team bounced back to take out bronze in the Year 3/4 B Division, winning the playoff for third and fourth🥉Tauranga City Basketball.

This competition runs across Terms 2 and 3, and with this team made up of all Year 3 students except for two, we are so excited to see what they can do next season!

We’d also like to wish our Year 5/6 team the very best of luck for their Division A Final on Friday afternoon! 🏆 We are already incredibly proud of everything you’ve achieved this season — now go out there, play hard and enjoy every second! 💙

A huge thank you to the incredible Shinae, who has coached both teams this season (and every other for the last 6 years!). Thank you for your time, energy, passion and all the incredible support you give our players. We are so lucky to have you! 🫶🏀
