Two loves: structured literacy AND maths? We might be looking for you. 💛

Study Nook is a specialist learning support practice in Papamoa, Bay of Plenty. We work with Y0-8 aged learners who learn differently, and we're looking for an educator with strong skills in both structured literacy and explicit maths instruction.

What we're looking for:
• Grounding in the Science of Reading (ideally training in BSLA, iDeaL, IMSE, or equivalent)
• Experience with structured, explicit maths instruction at primary level
• Comfortable working 1:1 with children who have a range of learning profiles

This is an independent contractor role.
• Afterschool hours only initially (flexible scheduling)
• In-person (Papamoa) and/or online

Many learners struggle with writing because they’ve never been explicitly taught how sentences and paragraphs are constructed.

Our writing groups draw on principles, which emphasises structured, sentence-level instruction to build strong writers.

Learners develop skills in:

• sentence expansion
• vocabulary and grammar
• organising ideas into paragraphs

When writing is taught step-by-step, learners gain the tools they need to express their thinking with confidence.
