The word 'heuristic' comes from the Greek word 'heurisko', which means 'serves to discover or reach understanding of' (Goldschmied 8: Jackson, 1994). Heuristic play is the play that allows children to experience and put together objects in a way that engenders the excited feeling - 'I have found out about this object'.

As an educator I will always be passionate about providing the best resources to our youngest learners. Children learn to their fullest potential when they are offered engaging and Open-Ended experiences and equipment.
Heuristic play is widely recognised in early childhood educational environments to provide this. Therefore, I decided to put together some starter sets of quality, beautiful and carefully curated items for heuristic play. Website is under construction currently so dm for early orders.
