🌼 Daffodil Day & Book Day in the Toddlers’ Room
Our toddlers had a beautiful time recognising Daffodil Day and Book Day, creating opportunities to learn, explore, and celebrate together.

The tamariki enjoyed exploring the meaning of Daffodil Day through bright yellow colours, flowers, and conversations about kindness, caring and helping others. They also celebrated the joy of books by sharing stories, looking at pictures, turning pages, and enjoying special moments together.

It was wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement as they connected learning with real-life celebrations. A special thank you to our supportive parents and whānau for helping make these experiences meaningful for our tamariki.

📚 Book Day Celebration 📚
Our Book Day was proudly initiated by our wonderful parents after seeing a local school celebrate the joy and importance of books. We are truly grateful to the few parents who supported us by dressing up their children as their favourite book characters.
Their enthusiasm helped bring stories to life and showed our tamariki that books can inspire imagination, creativity and a lifelong love of learning. What a wonderful way to celebrate the magic of reading!

🎓 A Special Milestone

Turning five is a very special milestone as our tamariki prepare to take their next big step into school. Our Graduation Ceremony is a beautiful celebration of their growth, learning, friendships and achievements.

With proud smiles, certificates and lots of love, we celebrate how far they have come and the wonderful journey ahead.

Connecting with a friend in Australia through Zoom was a thrilling and heartwarming experience for our tamariki. They were overjoyed to hear their friend’s voice and see his face on the screen, especially since he had recently moved to Australia. The children eagerly shared their stories, smiles and excitement, showing that friendship can continue to grow even when we are miles apart. First time trial to use tech with children.

Nature walks are full of wonder and learning.

Our tamariki every week are fortunate to explore the outdoors, we rejoice watching them observe, question, collect, compare and discover the natural world around them. We believe these simple experiences support curiosity, language development, physical skills, social connections and a growing sense of kaitiakitanga.

Our centre is fortunate to have this beautiful bush across the road.

Every walk has become a new adventure , small steps, endless discoveries.

We are so thankful to Qizzle for their recyclable cardboard boxes. 📦🎨 Our tamariki eagerly wait for these boxes because they provide endless opportunities for creativity and expression.

Through this simple, open-ended resource, we saw collaboration, discussion, problem-solving, concentration, creativity and rich language development. Tamariki shared ideass and turned boxes into whatever their imaginations could dream of.

Sometimes, the simplest resources create the most meaningful learning.

A simple setup can create endless learning with no limits. Open-ended resources invite tamariki to explore, imagine, create, problem-solve, and lead their own learning. What began as a simple setup became a world of discovery, storytelling, collaboration, and curiosity.

Exploring dinosaurs through imaginative play, inquiry, discovery and collaboration.
A teacher intentionally creating a dinosaur-themed sandpit experience to spark tamariki’s curiosity, imagination and engagement was a great success. Dinosaur figures, natural materials and sand were provided to encourage tamariki to create habitats, dig for “fossils,” make dinosaur footprints and develop their own imaginative stories. Through this intentional setup, the teacher supported language development, problem-solving, early science concepts, fine-motor skills, social cooperation and imaginative play.

What can we say? 💕 At drop-off time, some of us find it hard to say goodbye to our loved ones, and there may be a few tears along the way. But once the day begins, our friends keep us busy! Through play, laughter, sharing and learning together, we develop the everyday life skills we need to grow, connect and become confident little people.

Sometimes, our friends are our greatest teachers.
