Settlement Road update notice of road closure

Downer will be returning to carry out works on Settlement Road, Papakura in the beginning of September 2020. Work will be undertaken as follows;

06 September – 20 September 2020

A 24/7, full road closure of Settlement Road (between Marne Road round about and Kelvin Road) will be in place.

Work involves

· Kerb and Channel

· a dig out at the intersection of Hunua Road and Settlement
Road

· Milling the existing surface from Marne Road to Kelvin Road

· Subsoil work

· Stabilisation from Marne Road to Kelvin Road

· Pavement testing

Resident, school and business access will be maintained. Please see the access route below:
Settlement Road (between Smith Road and Hunua Road) – access through Laurie Ave.
Settlement Road (between Hunua Road and Dominion Road) – access from Dominion Road.
Hunua Road (between Croskery Road and Settlement Road) access via Dominion Road or Settlement Road routes.
Scott Road and Kelvin Road – access through Willis Road
Albion Place, Harper Street and Tiel Lane – Access from Dominion Road
Onslow Road – Entry and Exit will be maintained via Marne Road.
From 21 September the road will reopen as normal until final asphalt surfacing takes place. An update will be provided prior to work being undertake

Your primary role will be to maintain the school’s Property and Grounds and manage the day to day schedule of tasks required to facilitate the smooth running of the school. The position requires you to have current Health and Safety knowledge and expertise and the ability to manage projects on behalf of the Board. You will work unsupervised requiring initiative, sound maintenance skills, and a strong work ethic to complete jobs quickly and to a high standard. Skills in repair and maintenance work or a trade background are preferred along with a good level of fitness. A willingness to undertake training courses as needed to up-skill. Good communication and people skills. Must have NZ residency and will need to pass a police vetting check.

Term 2 Newsletter 1 2020

Back to School, Monday May 18! Gate opens at 8.30 am.
The staff and Board of Edmund Hillary School are excited to welcome back all Learners this coming Monday.
It feels like the start of the year all over again! Just like the start of the year, we have some ways to keep children happy and safe when they come back to school on Monday.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILD AT HOME IF S/HE IS SICK.. HELP US TO LOOK AFTER EVERYONE.
Guidelines for coming back to school
● All children are to be dropped off and picked up at the gate by the carpark on Hunua Road. All other gates will remain closed.
● School Times: 8.40am to 2.30pm
● Whanau need to make an appointment with the office to come into the school.
● We will have school staff at the gate to welcome students back.
● A teacher will be waiting at the classroom door, to greet them, make sure
they sanitise and show them to their place. ​There will be no playing in the
playground before or after school.
● Each learner has their own chair, a special place to sit and put things.
● There will be a nice safe distance between each child’s place.
● Each child who has one, needs to bring device and charger, morning tea,
lunch and a named water bottle. Our school drinking fountains have all been
shutdown to be safe.
● Outdoor play equipment will be washed daily.
We will review our procedures in 2 to 3 weeks time. Our aim is to keep our
children, staff and whanau as safe as we can over this early stage. All calls to the
