Busy Bees Mount Wellington Welcome to Busy Bees, we provide a nurturing and fun environment for your little ones. Our centre caters for children aged 0 – 6 year olds.

Here at Busy Bees Mount Wellington, we provide a fun and nurturing environment, where your child receives meaningful care, as well as personalised learning and development. Your child will love our separate Nursery, Toddler and Preschool areas, all well laid out for fun and learning at every age and stage, including a family play area, an art area, as well as a quiet space for reading and reflecti

on. Our daycare centre is open 7.00am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday and conveniently located in the heart of Mount Wellington.

Mabuhay! Celebrating Filipino Language Day! 🇵🇭

What a wonderful day of culture, connection, and celebration at our centre!

Our tamariki looked fantastic in their beautiful Filipino-inspired outfits as we celebrated the richness of Filipino culture.

We had lots of fun learning Filipino action songs, numbers, body parts, and simple greetings, colouring the Filipino flag, and sharing conversations about Filipino food and traditions.

These experiences support Te Whāriki by nurturing Mana Whenua – Belonging and Mana Reo – Communication, as tamariki develop an appreciation for different languages, cultures, identities, and ways of being.

It was a beautiful reminder that our differences make our learning community richer, and together we create a place where everyone belongs.

🌱🥕 From Seed to Table! 🥬🍅

What a wonderful feeling it is to eat fresh vegetables that we planted, watered, cared for, and finally harvested from our very own garden! 💚

Our learning journey began with taking care of our worm farm and using the wonderful worm castings to make natural fertiliser for our vegetables. We watered our plants, watched them grow day by day, and patiently waited for harvest time. 🌿🐛💧

And now, the most rewarding part — harvesting and enjoying delicious, fresh, healthy food that we grew ourselves! 🥗😋

This has been such a meaningful and fantastic learning journey, teaching us about nature, sustainability, responsibility, patience, and the joy of growing our own food. 🌎🌱

Once upon a Book Week… our little bookworms went on a WILD adventure! We stirred up a storm at the Gruffalo Cafe, squelched and splashed on a Bear Hunt, peered our way through Animal Boogie, and brewed up some very magical potions from Room on the Broom! A week full of messy hands, big imaginations, tiny giggles and HUGE adventures!

❤️🇹🇴 Celebrating Tongan Language Week 2026! 🇹🇴❤️

Mālō e lelei! What a wonderful way to celebrate Uike Kātoanga’i ‘o e Lea Faka-Tonga – Tonga Language Week! 🇹🇴✨

It was fantastic to see our tamariki dressed proudly in red, a traditional colour of Tonga, as we came together to celebrate our beautiful Tongan language, culture and identity.

Our tamariki enjoyed dancing to Tongan songs, while our Tongan children, parents and kaiako proudly shared and performed traditional Tongan dances. 🎶💃🏽🕺🏽❤️

This year’s theme is:

“Ko ‘etau hiva, ko e fe’unu mahu’inga ia ki he mo’ui ‘a e Tonga”
“Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture.” 🎵

Through hiva (music), songs and dance, our tamariki are learning, celebrating and passing on the rich traditions of Tonga from one generation to the next. What a beautiful reminder that our language and culture are treasures to be shared and kept alive.

Mālō ‘aupito to our wonderful tamariki, Tongan parents, whānau and kaiako for sharing your talents, culture and love with our learning community. ❤️🇹🇴
