Lots of Hugs Childcare - Pitt Street LOTS OF HUGS CHILDCARE is a homely daycare that provides a playful learning environment and is geared towards the overall growth of the child.

Dear parents, families, whanau, and friends,
I would like to announce to all that ALL our centers will be waiving off any fees for Monday 24th March.

We will also be waiving off parent fee for Tuesday & Wednesday (25th & 26th March) for parents who come under the Essential Workers list.

We will not be charging parent fees from Thursday the 26th of March due to Covid-19 lockdown. This will be in place until we are given the ok from the Ministry of Education to open back up.

There is no immediate need to withdraw your child as there is no charge during this lock downtime and once back up and running we will have further updates for you.

We would like to support our families and ensure that we are here for you. Please do contact me if you have any questions or concerns or you just need someone to talk to. It's important for us to know that our families are safe and are ok.

Dear Parents and Staff,
Some of you may have heard the Prime Ministers announcement today. The COVID-19 situation continues to changes each day. We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our children, families, staff and the wider community.

Our centres have reviewed and updated our Pandemic plan and are well informed on the processes and precaution stages.

Our centre's are a very safe place to be in and we are monitoring the welfare of all concerned on a daily basis.

There are many people/families that are self-isolating or feel it's in their child's best interest to keep them at home, we understand and are here to help in any way we can, please do contact your centre manager if you do need assistance with deliveries or just needing to talk to someone.

Here are some of the photos from our rugby world cup opening celebration. We had a fun filled day of activities which included, coming dressed up in the colours of the countries we were supporting, face painting, rugby attire, rugby ball skills, flags and a yummy afternoon tea with some all black cookies. A big thankyou to Wendy (Madden-Jays Nanny) for helping with the decorations and supplying the yummy treats.

Just a reminder tomorrow we are celebrating the opening of the rugby world cup, with a dress up day. Come in the colors of the country you are supporting. We will have a range of fun filled activities throughout the day

Di and Dale have recently started a professional development called the Olli programme (oral language and literacy). They are learning new strategies and developing existing skills to enhance our literacy programme across the the curriculum. Di has been focusing on the legends of Maui, slowing the sun and also discovering fire. Dale's book is about a crocodile who doesnt like water. Our tamariki are being encouraged to engage with the stories through conversations and other activities. The foundation skills learnt in early childhood carry through to primary school and beyond. Key words to listen out for include tama-nui-te-ra (the sun)
