PNBHS Art Department

On Monday evening, Palmerston North Girls’ High School hosted an exhibition opening for an exciting collaborative project with Year 13 Design students from PNBHS and PNGHS, titled Once One of Us.

Inspired by Wintec’s “Hear Us Out” initiative, the project challenged students to design posters that share advice and insights with the community.

Each student was paired with a school alumnus for an interview about their experiences and life after school. Using quotes and advice from these conversations, the students created posters that bring these words to life.

It was good to catch up with Old Boy Navid Rahimi and his parents at the recent ‘Excellence’ exhibition opening at Te Manawa. Navid gained Excellence in 2023 for his Level 3 Painting portfolio, which gave him the opportunity to showcase his work in a National Gallery setting alongside other Level 3 Art portfolios from around the region. We are extremely proud of Navid’s achievement and wish him all the best with his software engineering degree. The exhibition closes on the 23rd June.
