Congratulations to Tai Wānanga Tu Toa Girls Youth XV who claimed the title with a strong 31–12 win over Awatapu Girls Youth XV 👏

A quality performance to finish the season, highlighting the depth of talent and the continued growth of girls rugby across our region 💪

Credit to Awatapu for a determined effort in the final, and to all teams who have taken part over the past 7 weeks — your commitment and contribution have helped make this competition such a success 👏

We proudly acknowledge our tauira who will be representing at the upcoming Aotearoa Taumata Ki O Rahi Tournament in Rotorua over Labour Weekend.

Jordan Cardno and Meihana Takurua have been selected to play for the Aotearoa Māori Ki o Rahi team. Jah Pritchard and Sade Larkins will represent the Pasifika Invitational Ki o Rahi team.

Following our strong performance at regionals on Friday, we are thrilled to announce that we have qualified once again for the Ki o Rahi Nationals in 2026. This tournament also marks a significant milestone – the final kura game for our Year 13s: Meihana, Jordan, and Jah. Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and the legacy you leave behind.

A special mention to Meihana Takurua, who recently represented New Zealand U19s Ki o Rahi team in Australia – an incredible honour and achievement on the international stage.

Last term, our Year 9 and 10 taiohi got hands-on with basic welding as part of their science program! 🧪⚙️

They’ve been exploring how metals react and behave in different environments, and what better way to bring that learning to life than by sparking up the welding gear and seeing it in action?

It’s been an awesome blend of theory and practical skills, with taiohi gaining insight into the properties of metals, chemical reactions, and the real-world applications of science.
