PNGHS International

We enjoyed a fun visit to our capital yesterday with PNBHS international students. We were again fortunate to have beautiful, calm weather in Wellington. We visited Mount Victoria Lookout, Te Papa Museum, the Cable Car, the Beehive, and Parliament House. The students also had a great time exploring the main street—Lambton Quay.

Last Friday our new international students went on a school trip to explore our city and region with the PNBHS international students. They learned about the Manawatu River coming through Te Apiti, visited the Feilding Farmers Market, Stock Sale Yard and He Ara Kotahi bridge, and had fun at the Esplanade playground. The highlight of the trip was the NZ icecream.

What an amazing week we shared with the Namiki students – full of engaging educational activities, from classrooms to visiting the Primary school and exploring our city through an Amazing Race! We were thrilled to host the Namiki group again this year with another successful programme. They enjoyed learning about Kiwi cultures both inside and outside of school. Our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers, buddies, and homestay families for creating a memorable experience the students will cherish forever. We also thank our sister school, Namiki Secondary School, for their ongoing partnership and support. The Namiki students always bring positive energy and rich cultural diversity to our school community. We look forward to hosting them every July.

It was a busy first week back at school as we welcomed our new international students from China, Japan and Vietnam. Plenty of excitement lies ahead. We can’t wait for you to explore the new school environment, as well as our beautiful city and country. All the best for your time here.

The capital city treated our short-term Vietnamese students well today with warm and stunning weather, making for a fun day of exploration.

We had a fun day out with new international students from Boys’ High exploring Palmy and the surrounding areas yesterday. The eel feeding and NZ ice cream were the highlights of the day.

As part of the programme, our new Vietnamese students took part in a Powhiri and engaged with Maori culture via Nga Takaro, deriving great benefit from learning about the culture. We would like to thank Mr Strickland and the Maori Performance class at Palmerston North Boys’ High School for making this opportunity available to our students.
