The National Oiled Wildlife Response Team is coordinated by Massey University, under contract to Maritime New Zealand.

When wildlife are involved in a marine oil spill, the National Oiled Wildlife Response Team (NOWRT) may be mobilised. This team is trained, managed, and coordinated by specialists at Massey University’s Institute of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences.
