Daffodil Day is a chance to show your friends and family affected by cancer they’re not alone.

Daffodil Day is also about donating in order to protect future generations of New Zealanders by helping to fund world-leading cancer research and vital prevention programmes.

We will be showing our support as a school on Daffodil Day. Students are encouraged to wear something yellow WITH their uniform.

Merchandise will be available for a donation from the Prefects who will be outside the office before school on Friday 28th August.

You can also make a donation online here: https://www.daffodilday.org.nz/

Thank you for your support! 😊

The Value Voucher prize winners from Friday's draw for Week 4 were:

LIMBRICK 👉 Daeshawn Rm5 - Respect
SNOWDON 👉 Hamza Rm6 - Consideration for Others
MANSON 👉 Lincoln Rm3 - Respect
BRIGHTWATER 👉 Keone Rm6 - Consideration for the Environment

All other recipients will bring their vouchers home (they should come home with a hole punched in them - that means they have already been in the draw and don't need to come back to school).

Congratulations to all of our students who were caught demonstrating one of our school values. Ka Rawe!

(How the Value Vouchers work: They are a way for us to recognise and acknowledge our school values in real contexts such as the playground, sports field or Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) event. Vouchers can be given out to children demonstrating Honesty, Excellence, Respect and showing Consideration (for Themselves, Others or the Environment) during break times. Vouchers are linked to our four Houses, and make a positive connection between home and school around behaviour.

Once awarded, the recipient places their voucher in their appropriate House tub in the Library. One winner from each House is drawn each fortnight (even weeks) by the House Leaders, and wins a prize from the Principal Prize Box. The prizes are usually presented at assembly. The remaining Value Vouchers are then given to classroom teachers to distribute at the end of the the day. Children are able to take them home to share with their family.

We would love to give them a koha to say thanks, and to support the upcoming national events that their two choirs have been selected for. We are asking families if they would like to make a gold coin donation on the day.
