Did you know Business Training New Zealand delivers bespoke, in-house professional development workshops offshore? We are proud and privileged to have recently delivered a series of Customer Service and Leadership training sessions across the stunning Niue Island.

This offshore training initiative was part of a collaborative effort with Niue Tourism to enhance service delivery across the island’s business community. With Niue’s distinctive and truly unique “one resort” approach — where businesses work together to serve visitors as one seamless hospitality experience — the goal was clear: lift customer service standards collectively and consistently.

We were honoured to have the Prime Minister of Niue, Hon. Dalton Tagelagi, open each day of training with a speech highlighting just how critical exceptional customer service is to the island’s future. His leadership and passion for service excellence set the tone for an impactful programme.

Participants explored practical strategies to not only meet but exceed customer expectations, learning how to deliver exceptional service and embrace a mindset of going the extra mile in every interaction.

Alongside the customer service training, we also had the opportunity to work closely with Niue’s leadership teams — delivering tailored sessions designed to strengthen leadership capability, enhance communication, and support effective team management. These sessions focused on equipping local leaders with the tools to foster high-performing teams and lead confidently through growth and change.

From tourism operators to local retailers and senior leaders, the enthusiasm and commitment to growth were truly inspiring. It was an incredible opportunity to support Niue’s vision of a unified, world-class visitor experience — and a career highlight for our facilitator!
