From Colin MacLeod, chair, NZ Catholic Bishops’ Committee for Interfaith Relations: "Attached is a lovely letter from the Buddhist Council of NZ wishing us all the very best for Christmas. For many years it has been a tradition of the New Zealand Catholic Bishops’ Committee for Interfaith Relations to write to communities of other faiths wishing them well as they celebrate significant religious days and times in their own faith traditions. It is an opportunity to acknowledge the rich diversity of faith among those with whom we share this earth. It’s also an example of how people, often with very different beliefs, can respect one another and genuinely wish them well by focusing on shared goals and dreams, such as peace, compassion and joy, while still holding deeply to their own faith tradition and beliefs. This letter is a wonderful example of a community initiating an outreach to us with the same sentiment."

We would like to acknowledge our beloved former teacher, Jude Wills. Jude passed away yesterday.

Jude was the epitome of a St James' teacher; a loyal friend and supportive colleague who was loved by all the children and the community. Jude worked at relationships with parents. She was honest, and always had her learners best interests at heart.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.~Amen~

On Friday our senior Kapa Haka whanau farewelled and thanked our fabulous tutors, Leandra and Brent for their many years of guidance and service.
And today, our school had the chance to farewell and thank Liz, for her service and love through her work on our PTFA for many years.
We are grateful to these three incredible people for all they have given us.
