đż A Time to Pause, Reflect, and Refocus
Kia ora whÄnau,
InspirEdu will be taking a much-needed hiatus from Facebook for the foreseeable future (alongside HG Music Tuition and my personal page) from today.
In recent months, itâs become clear that the energy that fuels this space needs a chance to breathe, reset, and realign. The daily posts that have inspired so many of you have become harder to craft in recent months and thatâs been the reminder that sometimes, even inspiration itself needs rest.
Although the social channels will be quiet for a while, the vision behind InspirEdu continues to grow quietly behind the scenes. The next chapter will begin to unfold in its own time at
www.inspiredu.co.nz
and www.hamishguthrie.com.
Today's post heralds the final reflective message for the year - a moment of reflection before the page steps into silence for a season.
The page will remain visible, and a trusted friend has stepped in as admin to help keep the space accessible while I take time to pause, reset, refocus, and rebuild.
Thank you to everyone whoâs kept engaging, shown kindness, checked in, and followed this journey so far. When the time is right, the light will return - brighter than ever.
Stay blessed and keep striving.

Sabah al-khair, Shalom, Jambo!
And it's Spiritual Sunday - a day that I pause, rest, and reset.
Today, I decided to follow on with a creative mantra that reflects a belief, a promise, and a challenge.
For me, I believe that I have been carefully crafted in a way that allows me to carry out the works that have been entrusted to me.
Whilst I may not always understand the pathway that's been laid out before me, I have faith that it is a good one even though it may still be one that is not always easy.
Then... there's the promise.
God has prepared the way for us. Now, again, we may not always understand the pathway that's been prepared for us, similar to trying to explain to our children why we should have a bountiful amount of colours on our plates at each and every meal - trust that He has our plan in hand, even the parts that feel unfair - and He will lay them out as, and when, we are ready (even if we don't feel we are).
Then comes the challenge.
We have been created in God's likeness to do good.
Do good things, think good thoughts, act with integrity, always.
Again, it won't always be easy - in fact, sometimes it'll be downright hard, but keep at it because you don't know where the ripple from that word, action, thought, or suggestion may end up even years from now.
Have a beautiful, powerful, and restful day you magnificent person, you.
Hope it's a good one!

Sawasdee krub, Bonjour, Good morning!
As I sit here writing today's message, I do so with a tear in my eye, and gladness in my heart because today would have been my grandmother's 99th birthday and she was truly a beautiful lady who encouraged me, supported me, and celebrated with me always. Today's post is for you - Happy Birthday, Nan - forever in my heart, always in my thoughts.
As I get myself ready for another day of musical motivation, I love the creative angle that today's message brings to the situation.
See, for me, whatever has passed in my week till now is replaced with the energy, joy, chatter, and sounds of kids who are finding their beats for the first time.
It cleanses my soul and I love it!
Similar to some of the other messages throughout this week, today's soulful Saturday message blends my love of artistic endeavours with the realisation that we cannot change things that have come before now.
Whether you're creating your offering with markers, paints, watercolors, pastels, pencils, or adding textures with different tools, instruments, or something else entirely, make today your masterpiece.
Keen to jam, sometime? Flick me a message and I'll give you advanced access to our music lessons - for free! This offer is strictly whilst I'm jamming this morning (until 12pm today!) - I'll update this post in the day to remove the freeness so get in while it's hot!
Click the WhatsApp button and message me with "I'm Keen to Jam" and I'll hook you up!
Have a wicked one, team!
And Happy Birthday, Nan - Love you, Miss you - Always!

Konnichiwa, Selamat pagi, Kia ora!
What are your thoughts when you look up into a clear night sky?
I love it - mysterious, open, and vast, I see the night sky as a sort of enigma; something that is curiously unknown and an exciting prospect to explore.
Do I genuinely want to travel into space? No... not really.
But I do love wondering about the expansiveness of what's 'out there', what might be existing on other planets in their respective 'goldilocks zone' of their solar system... Why? Because I love the intrigue. It's fun to be mystified.
Now..., to the message of the day.
Even more than the wonder of space, I love music in all its forms - from the exploratory tinkering of my son on the piano, to the legendary fingers of some of the top guitarists, I believe that music has the power to transform us from the innermost reaches of our soul.
See, the beauty with music is that it shapes the space around us with its vibrational energy and transcends boundaries of language through the choice of notes that are used.
You don't need to understand the notes to hear the message.
Today is a planning and marking day, for me, and the encouragement is all about breathing through the calm, embracing the rhythm, and thriving through the energy.
Have a stunning day, team - you're amazing, mysterious and interesting!
Use it!

Talofa, Bula, Aloha!
What are your thoughts on bonfires?
When creating the image for today, the prompt that I used resulted in this glorious, electric, energetically squiggly creativeness, and it reminded me of bonfires.
But then it got me thinking about how perfect the allusion, and connection is, for the message that we're going to unpack.
It's Tactful Thursday and today's energy is all about realising what we can control and what we are powerless to affect.
See, we cannot change events, words, actions and thoughts from moments past, nor can we guarantee the promises of what lays before us, but we have an intense power over what lies within us.
Sure, we can make amends, apologise, and attempt to 'make good' the errors of our ways, but we'll never truly undo what's been done... so do we keep ahold of it; carry it in our daily backpack; water it and watch it fester and grow? No.
So, harness the power, and energy of what you can control. Be an agent of the change you want to see happen.
Create the future you want to see. Make your dreams your reality.
Wishing you a transformational, tactful day, team!

Salut, Buenos dĂas, Kia ora!
Have you ever felt that, sometimes, life can feel like a lonely alleyway - quiet, dimly lit, and a little uncertain?
The other day, I shared on my personal page about it being International Day of Failure (October 13th) and how it's okay to fall. It's okay to fail.
The trick with every fall, and every failure is that the way that we go about rising again will determine our level of success heading forward.
There will be times where we are buoyed by others, and others where we're faced with the prospect of sinking or swimming as we tackle our reality alone.
Every stumble, every setback, every fall⊠itâs part of our becoming.
What defines us isnât how many times we trip but how we handle the landing and when and how we choose to rise again.
Have a mighty day you fabulous person, you.

Bonjourno, kia orana, Good Morning!
Oh! How I do love this image, the message, and what it hints at.
Why? Because kids are naturally creative, masterful beings who bring such a spark to the world around them that you can't help but smile.
Here's the kicker though... everyone colours from a different palette, and some of us have sharpeners, whilst others have to get creative with the tools we've been provided.
Creativity for one kid might be making a mud restaurant after heavy rain, or a scrawled message on a piece of furniture, or an image which has you wondering what way is up... or however it might manifest.
It's all beautiful - it just depends on whose lens you're looking through.
I once had a conversation with someone who said that a plant is only a 'w**d' when it's in the wrong place. Grass in the garden is often an unwanted situation, but similarly, flowers on the lawn may not be ideal either.
But then... there's the sad part - the honest truth about what happens when we age.
See, our creativity is so often moulded on the opinions, experiences, and visions of others - we get told that we're wrong when things are seemingly different than what someone expected.
Perhaps you've painted the sun as a beautiful shade of magenta, and the grass is a fiery red, whilst the cat is blue. So what?!? It's your picture, your design, your creative take on the world around you.
You don't have to explain your reasoning to people that don't share your vision - the right people will see you, adore you, and align with you. To all the others, let them colour their own canvas and keep bringing your twist on the world. It's awesome, necessary, and needed.
Whatever you've got on for the day, ahead, have a beautifully colourful one.
You are an artist in your own right - own it, live it, love it.

Buenos dĂas, Bula Vinaka, Kia ora!
Welcome back!
Would you believe it if I told you that we're now in Week 41 of 2025 - 73 days out from Christmas Day and 80 days until we farewell the year.
Are you ready?
Sitting here, reflecting on the message at hand, I'm drawn to the three requirements:
A wishbone
A backbone
A funny bone
Why?
Because I firmly believe that we, as functioning beings, need to embrace our dreams - to dare to wish on a star - to have hope - to have faith.
It's important to have things to look forward to; to have a promise of something worth waiting for.
Then we have the backbone. Being willing to stand up for what's right, but also strong enough to sit is vital to keeping things moving.
If we don't back ourselves, who will?
Then there's the funny bone - you know... That annoying one that tends to make us grimace rather than burst out in laughter (down on the elbow)... Okay, I'm not terribly well versed on it's actual location, but do maintain that the ability to laugh is imperative to coping with all that life throws at us.
So... Where does it all start?
Family.
Family is where we first learn to dream and where we learn to stand tall, even when life requires us to pivot and bend.
Then... There are those moments where you simply have to laugh because life happens.
No matter where we go or how far we grow, our family, by birth, by bond, or by choice is the starting point for what really matters.
As you head into this week, take a moment to be grateful for those whoâve helped shape your strength, your dreams, and your ability to smile even on the tough days.
To all of those who've put themselves forward for the local body elections - well done, regardless of the outcome.
You have epitomized today's message about strength, agility, dreams, and the ability to take things on the chin.
As we shift into what comes next, and as councils up and down the motu take shape, I implore incoming members to remember where they've come from, to stand tall for what matters most, to dream big and find ways to make our regions, towns, and cities even better, and to take time to laugh - not at each other, but simply to release that energy into the room as you remember why you sought election in the first place.
Have a mighty day, team.
Go get 'em.

Shubh Prabhat, God morgon, Kia Ora!
After what's been a massive, but magical, week, I want to simply put this message out, pause, and breathe for a moment.
It's Spiritual Sunday - a day to pause and be reflective of who we are, who we're built to be, and what our purpose, or mission, is in this world.
Today's message is for me. It's also for you.
Keep going even through trials, challenges, and tribulations.
Have faith, and know that there is a reason, even if you don't understand it right at this moment.
And no, I don't have all the answers, nor do I have a full and complete roadmap.
As the quietness of Sunday stirs into life, we turn inward toward faith and endurance in an effort to remind ourselves that that storms refine rather than ruin.
Whatever you're walking through now, I pose the question to you of how might you lean into a promise instead of resisting the pain?
Wishing you a serene day full of everything that you love.
Have a beautiful one.

GĂŒnaydın, Ahoy, Kia Ora!
Ahhh, my happy place!
Have you ever just held space - simply connected without needing to say a single word?
Today's photo is of my son, and I, overlooking the beautiful Lake WÄnaka from the top of Ruby Island looking toward Mount Aspiring National Park - magestic.
Fun fact: The name 'WÄnaka' comes from the MÄori word wÄnanga, meaning âsacred knowledgeâ or âplace of learning.â
As today's message hits the metasphere, I'm getting ready for day of music and I'm amped (pun intended)!
Why mention this?
Because I am a big believer that music is the voice of many souls, and its beauty and language transcend through many dialects even when the meaning behind the words may be foreign.
Simply put, music breaks communication barriers and I love it.
Whether it's 'reading the cues', 'observing the situation', 'understand body language', or 'knowing when you've outstayed your welcome', learning how to communicate without words is an important skill to develop.
Pause. Listen. Observe. Read.
As you head into whatever your day has in store for you, I encourage you to reflect and let silence guide you through 'conversations' today. Hold space, be purposeful, be present.
Have a great day!

Good Morning, Hola, Kia Ora!
How cool is today's message?
One thing that I really enjoy is observing, and listening, to how singers, artists, and creatives express themselves, their ideas, and their messages.
Unashamedly them, song after song, stroke after stroke, and word after word, they bring a little slice of them into the world around them.
I also really enjoy the quote about not letting someone dim your light simply because itâs shining in their eyes. That sounds like a 'them' problem - hand them a pair of sunglasses and keep doing you.
There is no one better at being you than you and there is no one youer than you, it's true (Dr. Seuss).
Have faith in who you are - and because I'm feeling somewhat musical this morning, I adore these lyrics from Rachel Platten's 'Fight Song'.
âLike a small boat on the ocean,
sending big waves into motion.
Like how a single word can make a heart open â
I might only have one match,
but I can make an explosion.â
Be bold, be courageous, be unashamedly YOU.
Let your light shine and let the whole world see!
Wishing you a beautifully bright day ahead.
