Made the trip to Whakatane after Saturday morning rugby, to final night of Mamma Mia with my family- a five hour drive with three in the back, but this company, this community and the Mamma Mia sellout experience we created was so special and worth it. I’m so proud to be Creative Director for the Consortium and Director Choreographer for Theatre Whakatane. Musical theatre is like nothing else when it’s done with people of gorgeous integrity who know how to work hard to achieve a vision, backed and supported by everyone’s families outside of the theatre. I start next week to do the same for Gisborne and can’t wait! In the meantime wish me luck for the 5 hour drive home with three in the back who got to bed at 2am. But I’ll remember it was worth it! Thank you Mamma Mia, thank you Whakatane, thank you musical theatre, thank you ‘family’ ❤️
