Kia ora Whanau
Tomorrow marks the end of an era.

Puddleducks’ Nursery and Preschool has been operated in the Manawatu as a family Business by the Davidson Family for 23 ish years. Started by Pip Povey née Davidson in Manchester st Feilding, supported ably and diligently by Malcolm Davidson and Robyn Davidson. In the later years the business was run by Hamish and Natalie Davidson.

A real family success story. Or we think so. But times change….

As some of you will know and others might not, the time has come for the Davidson’s to move on and Puddleducks to morf into the next phase.

So Puddleducks’ will be no more. Purchased by Provincial Education and will be renamed at Busy Bees.

Thanks from us to all the communities we operate in, as without the support of the local communities we were nothing. Thanks to our teams for making a difference every day.

All of the team are staying on and the centres will last into perpetuity albeit under a different name.

But from us the Davidson’s inc Malcolm and Robyn, Hamish and Nat, Archie, Mac, Pip and Mark, Caroline and Ant, Charlotte, Paddy and Evie, thanks and goodbye from us…

The under twos are enjoying exploring their new space at Church Street. We are building on our whanaungatanga and sense of belonging while making new relationships with tamariki and kaiako.

We held our annual Prize Giving and End of year celebration over the weekend, we added an 80’s theme as we love to dress up, we spent most of the night wearing our shoes out to Brightside, what a fab band! We love celebrating success and our centres teams have once again achieved high standards and personal growth. Congratulations to each and everyone of our team members for all your hard mahi!

Do you have any Loose parts?
No, we don't mean on your body!
These are everyday materials like pebbles, flowers, pine cones, leaves, ribbons, buttons, ropes, pot plants, figurines, chalks, papers, blocks and plastic pipes.
These resources support children’s play, exploration and cognitive development.
We would appreciate donation of loose parts at any of our Puddleducks Centres.

❄️ICE AGE ❄️ With bit of extra ice from the freezer it was an opportunity for our tamariki to explore the texture and temperature of ice. Our friends had lots of fun using different tools to break the Ice and commenting on how cold it feels in their hands.

Our Centre’s tamariki loved bug hunting before we added some new edging and park to their environment. Thanks to all our helpers at Albert Street.

PIZZA PICNIC 🧺 On this fresh, sunny Friday we decided a picnic was the way to end the week. The Tamariki all enjoyed their pizza in the fresh air before a little play on the playground at Manchester Street School. A few little birdies got a share of some Pizza too! Cheesy smiles all round in the Whio Room 🍕

Weta Research!
Some friends at Albert Street spotted a pair of weta legs poking out of a hole in the tree. They used their curious minds to get a closer look and to try see the weta’s habitat.
