🎥 Brian's money advice/tips to his 20-year-old self about Emergency Savings?

In summary, "Pay yourself first and then budget the rest... and when you get a pay rise, don't spend it all!"

Simple advice, but a great reminder that building emergency savings often starts with small habits that stick.

💭 If you could give your 20-year-old self one piece of financial advice, what would it be?

In this video, Giuseppe shares what he'd tell his younger self, including the importance of building a savings habit early.

Having money set aside isn't just about preparing for emergencies. It's about creating opportunities. When something exciting comes along, you can say "Let's do it!" instead of "I wish I had..."

🎓✨ Moneywise Manawatū at UCOL Open Day! ✨🎓

Chianti and Paula had a fantastic time at the recent UCOL Open Day, meeting students and chatting about how Moneywise Manawatū can support them on their financial journey.

There were plenty of great conversations about budgeting, making the most of their money, and the importance of building an emergency savings fund for life's unexpected surprises.

One of the biggest eye-openers? Many students were gob-smacked to discover how much their fast-food habits could cost them over a year! 🍔🍟💸

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. We loved meeting you and look forward to helping more people take control of their finances! 😊

💰 It’s Money Month! 💰

This month, the theme is Emergency Savings.

Life has a habit of throwing surprises our way. A vet bill, an unexpected koha, a sudden car repair, or an appliance that decides it's had enough. Having an emergency fund can help you handle these moments without relying on debt or adding extra financial stress.

The good news? Saving for life's surprises just got easier.

Sorted's new Buffer Builder app has your back. It connects securely to your bank accounts and helps build your emergency savings automatically. It can pay you first, round up purchases, and top up your savings, making it easy to grow your buffer without having to think about it.

✅ Set it up
✅ Let it do the work
✅ Have money ready when life happens

A small buffer today can make a big difference tomorrow.
