The student council have arranged a non-uniform day for next Tuesday, 18 August, raising money for Starship children's hospital. Please bring a gold coin donation.
Starship Children’s Hospital does incredible work every day, helping tamariki from across New Zealand get the specialist care they need. We currently have two staff members with little people receiving care there, so it feels especially fitting to get behind the amazing charity helping support them and their whānau.

McKinlay Kristen shoe issue
We are wanting to inform our community of a recent fault in the McKinlay Kristen shoe that may affect a range of sizes bought from November last year. The fault is in the sole of the shoe that has meant that the sole has been splitting. We have spoken to the owner of McKinlay’s who have been working to fix the fault but they think that the fault might be in around 600 pairs of shoes in circulation across New Zealand. McKinlays will honor returns of these faulty shoes. If you find your students' shoes splitting in the first year please return them to the shop you have got them from. Both NZ Uniforms and Kelly’s have been made aware of this. If you bought the shoes from elsewhere the provider can call McKinlay’s directly to confirm the fault and the return if they are unaware of the issue.
We have always found McKinlay’s shoes to be of high quality and have supported this New Zealand company over many years. For the majority, our students' shoes have lasted five years of secondary schooling in the past. We will be watching closely to see that the quality returns to the levels we have come to expect.
Please note that the McKinlays Kristen shoe is just one of the shoe styles and brands that is part of our uniform requirements. Others include Ascent Eve (the equivalent of the Kristen), Adela or Apex shoes and Clarkes lace up, Daytona or Infinity styles.
