Hi everyone,
I’d just like to welcome all our new students, and also a few old faces who are back at the club. It’s really good to see you all.
We’ve got another busy term of karate ahead, so keep training, keep turning up, and most importantly, keep doing your best.
There seem to be a lot of colds and bugs going around at the moment, so please look after yourselves. If you’re feeling well enough to train, come along and join us. If you’re not feeling well, stay home, get some rest, and get yourself right before coming back.
We’re also planning to have our regular movie night this term, so keep an eye out for the date and details.
I’ll also be handing out invoices this week. If you do end up missing some karate because you’re sick, just let me know and I’ll make the appropriate adjustment.
Thanks everyone

Hi everyone,
We hope you've all enjoyed the break. Karate starts back next week, and we're looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the dojo.
A new term is a great opportunity to set new goals, improve your skills, and continue your karate journey.
Remember, progress comes through consistent training. Don't worry about where you left off—just come along with a positive attitude, train hard, and enjoy being back with your dojo family.
See you all next week!
Hi everyone,
Congratulations to all of our senior students on their grading results.
We had some fantastic outcomes, and it is great to see such strong, dynamic karateka coming through on their journey.
The preparation, effort, and spirit shown by all candidates leading up to the grading were outstanding, and the results reflected that hard work.
A special thank you to all of our Dan grades for the time, support, and guidance they provided in helping prepare the students. Your leadership, encouragement, and commitment to the dojo are greatly appreciated.
Congratulations once again to everyone who graded. Be proud of your achievement, continue to train hard, stay humble, and keep building on this success.
Hi everyone,
I would like to congratulate all of the junior students who were successful in their grading. Your effort, practice, and commitment leading into the grading was evident, and you should be proud of what you achieved.
I also want to acknowledge those students who were unsuccessful this time. While that can be disappointing, grading is also an opportunity to reflect honestly on our training, preparation, and understanding of what is required in karate.
A grading is not simply about participation. It is about demonstrating consistent effort, skill development, strong performance, and the right attitude towards training. Standards should always be improving, and that comes through regular practice, focus, and dedication both inside and outside the dojo.
I would also like to acknowledge our newer students who have recently started their karate journey this year. The enthusiasm and attitude you have brought to training has really stood out, and it is great to see you stepping onto the dojo floor willing to learn and challenge yourselves.
Keep training, keep learning, and use this experience as motivation to continue improving.
Hi Everyone,
The dojo will be open on Tuesday from 5.15pm–7.00pm to make up for the training session missed due to the King’s Birthday holiday.
With grading coming up, this is a good opportunity to get in some extra training, sharpen up on basics, and build confidence leading into the grading.
Hope to see you all there.
Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that our Term Two Junior Grading will be held on Monday 8th June.
Start time:
white, red and yellow stripes 5.00pm
Yellow belts and above start time 5.30pm.
This is a great opportunity for students to show the progress they have made through their hard work, focus, and commitment during the term. Remember, grading is not about being perfect — it is about showing effort, spirit, improvement, and the willingness to keep learning.
Keep training hard, practise the basics, listen carefully in class. Small improvements each lesson lead to big achievements over time.
Looking forward to seeing everyone give their best on grading day

Super proud of these students for attending the Kobayashi Sensei seminar in Hamilton over the weekend. There was lots of great training and tuition, and it was awesome to see everyone giving their best and soaking up all the knowledge.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it there this time, but I’m really proud of the way the students represented the dojo and applied themselves throughout the seminar.
A huge thank you to all the Sensei's and the Hamilton Wado Kai for looking after everyone and providing such a great training environment.
Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a great school holiday break.
We’re back into training this week, and it’s shaping up to be a busy term with a grading coming up.
Looking forward to seeing you all back, ready to go.
Remember—keep it simple, practice what you learn, stay active, and be regular in class.
See you in the Dojo.
Hi everyone,
This week is our last week of training for the term. We’ll take a short break over the school holidays while I catch up on a few things at home.
If you could make sure term fees are all squared up, that would be great.
Have a great Easter, and we’ll see you back next term.
Thanks for a great term—awesome to see some of the juniors stepping up into the senior class 👍
