Forest Lakes Christian Camp have opened registrations for their upcoming Spring Kids Camp.

Spring Kids Camp will run from 3:30pm Monday 28 September to 1:00pm Friday 2 October 2026 at Forest Lakes Camping and Conference Centre in Otaki.

The camp is designed for children to enjoy a week filled with friendship, adventure, games, activities, songs, great food and plenty of fun. This year’s theme is Creation, and our camp speaker will be our much-loved Marty Scheib from OAC ministries, who is travelling up from the South Island to join us.

Throughout the week, children will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities and camp experiences, while being cared for by our team of leaders in a safe and welcoming environment.

Activities we have to offer include but are not limited to;
• horse riding,
• archery
• gladiator
• kayaking
• crafts
• mini-putt, bowling
• flying fox
• fire making and more!

Register for Spring Kids Camp
There is no upfront payment required when registering. A $30 deposit is due within three days of registration to secure a child’s place, with payment in full due by the 25th of September 2026.

Please also note that Forest Lakes is a nut-free camp.

Here is what the PN Diocese is talking about specifically this weekend and we celebrate our grandparents!

The Sixth World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly
takes place on Sunday, July 26, 2026. This date aligns with the
Feast of Saints Joachim andAnne, the grandparents of
Jesus.

The 2026 theme is "I will never forget you" (Isaiah 49:15). According
to a Feb. 10 statement from the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family,
and Life, the verse chosen by the Holy Father “is meant to
emphasize how God’s love for every person never fails, not even in
the frailty of old age. The World Day, instituted by the late Pope
Francis in 2021, is celebrated every fourth Sunday of July and is
presented as an opportunity to bring the closeness of the Church to the elderly and to enhance their contribution within families and
communities. Pope Leo XIV celebrated his first World Day of
Grandparents in July 2025, an occasion on which he encouraged the faithful to participate in the “revolution” of care for the elderly.
Saints Joachim and Anne feast day also reminds us to treasure our
Grandparents and our elders who are often trail-blazers and pass
down their knowledge; and unique insights to the younger
generations. Sts Joachim and Anne pray for us!
