Kia Ora Whanau
I just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou to all the whanau who helped this year in the garden. Thankyou for your time, effort and mahi. It is very much appreciated.
Our visitors today spoke very highly of the school, students and garden. Hopefully everyone will enjoy the garden for many years to come. The garden will be called Ngā Taonga o Tāne / Treasures of Tāne from now onwards.
Kind Regards,
Whaea Kat & The TREEmendous Team

Progress update as opening day gets closer! The archway is up, painted by students from each team, and the plaque ready to go in the middle. Water tank, new bench seating and rocks are in, edging is done and new fence is up. Posts are ready for birdhouses each team have been painting (they’re amazing!) - each team will be putting up their birdhouse during their time in the garden on opening day, and finding trees in a ‘tree-sure’ hunt to put up our laser cut tree identification signs 🙂

Walk through of today’s huge planting effort by Liz, Dylan, Adelaide, Karen, myself, and lots of amazing students after our plants were delivered this morning 🌱 our event might be cancelled, but the garden is happening!
Update: the planting event planned for next Saturday has been cancelled, due to current Covid levels 🙁
Our plants are still arriving on Monday 🌱 The plan at this stage is to work with groups of kids, and maybe a working bee or two to get them planted out over the next few weeks.
The garden will still happen! Just in a different way.
We’ll keep you posted about planting times - we’d still love your help 🙂
Hi 🙂 with NZ at level 2 now, our planting day might look a bit different than we planned! We’ll make some decisions early next week when we have a better idea of what’s happening.
