What an action-packed day of learning! 🏋️‍♀️🏅

With our current interest in the Commonwealth Games, we spent time watching the weightlifting events and learning about the incredible strength, focus, and determination of the athletes. This afternoon, the tamariki couldn’t wait to put their new knowledge into practice, taking turns lifting their own “weights” and cheering each other on just like the professionals!

To finish off our afternoon, we had another exciting game of balloon volleyball. There were plenty of laughs, teamwork, and active fun as everyone worked together to keep the balloon soaring through the air.

What a fantastic day of movement, learning, and play!

🌟 Because the Gymnastics was such a huge hit yesterday, we decided that Rhythmic Gymnastics with ribbons was on the agenda for TECC today. Tamariki watched it on the TV and had a go with their own ribbons, twirling and twisting them to make beautiful movements. Some tamariki even attempted throwing their ribbon and catching it, as well as trying out some fancy moves! ✨️

🤸 Check out these TECC gymnasts! After watching some Commonwealth Games Gymnastics on the TV, the tamariki were really impressed and couldn't wait to get outside to try out their own gymnastics skills. They were practicing their balancing on the beams, roly-polies and cartwheels on the mats, and swinging on the bars (the climbing dome). The tamariki demonstrated wonderful turn-taking and supporting of each other through this experience, ka rawe tatou! 🤸‍♀️

⚽️ Today, ngā tamariki enjoyed some football as part of our focus on the Commonwealth Games. They learnt how to dribble the ball with their feet up to the net before kicking it and scoring a goal! They cheered each other on and celebrated their own successes, as well as strengthening their gross-motor skills and spacial awareness. Ka pai tamariki ma! ⚽️

🍞 On Friday, to finish off our holiday programme, ngā tamariki made their own mousetraps with bread, margarine, marmite, and cheese. Tamariki took their time to spread the margarine and marmite on their bread, being steady and careful, showing awesome independence and confidence. Then, after the cheese was on, they went under the grill to toast and melt. Everyone enjoyed their mousetraps for lunch! 🧀

🎓 Ka mau te wehi, Marama-Jane! 🌟

On Friday we had the privilege of celebrating a very special milestone as we farewelled our wonderful Marama-Jane.

Watching you grow into the confident, kind, creative, and capable young learner you are today has been such a joy. From your love of drawing, writing your name, and exploring new learning opportunities, to the beautiful friendships you've built along the way, you have left your own special mark on our centre.

Tomorrow is your very first day of school, and while we will miss your bright smile and caring nature, we know you are more than ready for this exciting new adventure. We can't wait to hear all about the amazing things you will learn and achieve.

Thank you for the wonderful memories, Marama-Jane. Once a part of our TECC whānau, always a part of our whānau.

Wishing you all the very best for your first day at School tomorrow. We are so proud of you! 💙📚✨

Haere rā, Marama-Jane. Kia kaha, kia māia, kia manawanui. ❤️

On a chilly Thursday afternoon, what's better than warming up with some of Whaea Megan's yummy pumpkin soup? We even saved the seeds to hopefully grow our own for next year, how exciting is that? 🌱 And check out these brave tamariki, discovering that they can try out uncertain foods with confidence, and with the knowledge they are safe to explore new things ❤️

🚴‍♀️🚴 Bike Day Adventures! 🚴‍♂️🚴
Wednesday was all about getting active and having fun on two wheels! Our tamariki started the morning riding their bikes around the school field before making their way onto the courts, where they enjoyed practising their riding skills with plenty of space to zoom around.
There were smiles, laughter, growing confidence, and lots of encouragement as everyone challenged themselves and cheered on their friends. It was wonderful to see our tamariki developing their balance, coordination, and confidence while enjoying the fresh air and being active together.
What a wheelie awesome day! 💙🚲🌟
