About Us:
BusinessFirstNZ is a collaboration between Massey Business School academic staff and business leaders to advance business prosperity in New Zealand. At this stage we are focusing on the businesses in the lower North Island.

The initiative commenced in mid-2019 following calls from university and business leaders to enhance the relationship between their communities. By creating a space to foster engagement and facilitate the sharing of knowledge, key business decision makers and expert academics can work together to explore common challenges faced by industry and work collaboratively towards practical solutions.

To date we have delivered 16 half-day workshops on the Palmerston North campus (We didn't go online during COVID!!) and have covered a variety of topics as reported in the workshop reports posted below.

IT'S SURVEY TIME

The BFNZ team invites you to participate in an ongoing survey that seeks to help identify the factors that can support and advance engagement among members of the New Zealand business community and business schools. This is a repeat of a similar survey we ran in early 2022 that guided the design of our workshops over the past 18 months.

The survey follows four years of engagement through an initiative called "BusinessFirstNZ" that has hosted 16 half-day workshops with business owners, managers, and leaders from the regions surrounding the Massey Palmerston North campus.

As we move into our fifth year, we are looking to ensure the means of engagement is relevant and the topics are beneficial to help advance business in New Zealand. You can find out more by visiting bfnz.massey.ac.nz.
