Today, we explored Waipuna-ā-Rangi, the Matariki star associated with rain, by creating a Rain Cloud in a Jar.
The tamariki were excited to watch the blue raindrops fall through the cloud and into the water below. This hands-on experiment encouraged curiosity, observation, and learning about the natural world. We talked about how rain helps plants grow and supports all living things.
🌧️ He taonga te ua.
Rain is a treasure that sustains life. 💧🌱

We’d love to give a special shoutout to Nitish from Smart Environmental. 🎊
Nitish always arrives with such a warm smile and positive energy, and over time the tamariki have really built a lovely connection with him. Monday mornings became extra exciting as the children looked forward to seeing him and waving hi.
We truly appreciate the kindness and friendliness he brings each week, along with the wonderful service he provides to our centre and community. Thank you, Nitish, for always brightening our day. ☀️

Today, a small group of our Tuakana tamariki had the pleasure of visiting the front entrance of Paeroa RSA Paeroa RSA and Citizens Club Inc , where they purchased poppies in acknowledgement of ANZAC Day.
We are grateful to Nikau’s whānau for their kind donation, which made this experience possible.
If you have any stories or photos to share about your family’s connection to ANZAC Day, we would love to hear from you.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Sue from St John Ambulance Paeroa St John Ambulance to Riverglade.
