Another busy week at Paerata School.

Uike Kātoanga'i 'o e Lea Faka-Tonga

We have been celebrating Tongan Language Week. We kicked the week of with the Tongan National Anthem and flag raising ceremony.

Tuesday we had Wesley College’s Tongan Cultural Group perform for our students.

Today we had our Tongan Traditional Wear Showcase, where our Tongan tamariki and staff shared the traditional dress.

And tomorrow…

It’s umu time! We will be lighting the fire at 6am for our umu. Remember to send your child to school with their packed foil tray.

Wesley College students visited us and shared some Cook Island dances with our students on Tuesday.

… and today we have Chris in from Kids' Beats sharing the marimba with our junior students.

Thank You for a Wonderful Grandparents' Day!

A huge thank you to all of our grandparents, honorary grandparents, and parents who joined us for our very first Grandparents' Day. It was so special to see our classrooms and gym filled with smiles, laughter, and generations coming together to celebrate our amazing tamariki.

Our Book Fair certainly received plenty of love and attention today! Thank you to everyone who purchased books and supported a lifelong love of reading. If you missed out, or there's still a book on your grandchild's wish list, don't forget the Book Fair is open until Friday.

Thank you for being such an important part of our Paerata School whānau and for helping us continue Growing Great People. 📚💚
