Big thank you to all that attended the closing ceremony of our wee school yesterday. The day was all about giving back to the community. It was a fantastic turn out, lots of planning great food and refreshments. Unfortunately the day ended on a low for me as the PHOTO book that I spent hours on and was to stay at the hall has gone walk about!!! I'm asking if someone has mistakenly taken it home to PLEASE return it, or at least pay me $150.00 that it cost ME to have it made.

To the Community of Tahakopa and surrounding districts,
We wanted to share some important and bittersweet news with all of you. The Ministry of Education has made the difficult decision to close Tahakopa School, effective as of 11 April 2025.
While this marks the end of an era for our cherished school, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey. Tahakopa School has been more than just a place of learning; it has been a hub of community, connection, and shared experiences for generations.
Your support, dedication, and involvement have been the heartbeat of our school, and we have created memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you for being a part of our story. We look forward to celebrating the legacy of Tahakopa School with you in the coming months.

Super proud to watch the planting of our school vegetable garden today. There has been a terrific amount of mahi involved, clearing overgrown raised beds, as well as planting all of the vegetables from seeds and a daily routine of checking them and watering.
The gentle rain falling this afternoon will help to “settle” the plants too.
