We are incredibly proud of Guy and Gracie, who represented Maihiihi School at the Waikato Full Primary School Association Speech Competition last night.

Guy did a fantastic job competing in the Year 8 Boys section with his speech about chewing gum, while Gracie achieved an outstanding 2nd place in the Year 7 Girls section with her speech about parrots! 🥈👏

Reaching this level of competition is a fantastic achievement. Both students put in a huge amount of work to write, practise, learn, and confidently deliver their speeches.

Congratulations, Guy and Gracie! You represented Maihiihi brilliantly, and we are very proud of you both. 🖤💛

The Maths Practice Tool for Years 3–8 provides simple activities that children can work through at home to practise and strengthen their maths skills.

It’s a handy resource if you’re looking for ways to support what your child is learning at school — and it’s free to use!

2026 COPS Cross Country - 14 students represented Maihiihi Kura on a pretty tough track today, but all showed perseverance and pride. Well done to our students, thank you to our supporters and a massive thanks to Karyn and Claire for your help with marshalling!

🏃‍♀️🏃 Cross Country 2026 🏃🏃‍♀️
We could not be prouder of team Maihiihi! Every learner showed up, gave it their all, and completed the track.

Maihiihi students won five of the eight races and achieved outstanding placings across the programme. These results are exceptional and a real credit to the students who train hard and demonstrate incredible determination.

Thanks again to our friends at Otewa School for hosting us. We love the friendly rivalry and extra competition!
