ORGANISATION

Over the last few weeks I have been busy organising all of the resources, books and art supplies for the children to enjoy.

With experience in different childcare centres and also being a mum for 10 years I have discovered that if something dosn't have a place then it quickly becomes messy, overwhelming and pieces from sets just seem to vanish. By giving everything its own place it not only creates a visually pleasing space but it also allows you to see what resources you have. This means that by simply opening the cupboard doors you can quickly provide different activities for children without having to search through a pile of junk all bundled together.

I live by the saying 'if it dosnt have a home then it must go'.

Organisation is my guilty pleasure 😍😂

LOOSE PARTS

Providing children with loose parts allows their imagination to go wild! Will this become play food? Used for counting? Making shapes and faces? Stacking? The possibilities are endless!

I got all of this at my local op shops for less than $10. I cant wait to see what creative ways the children use them.

Welcome to Little Friends Farm!

I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Toni and I am the educator running Little Friends Farm In Home Childcare. I am almost finished my degree in Teaching (ECE) and I am working through an amazing homebased service called Tiny Nation.

I am 28 year olds and a mum to my amazing daughter Carleigh. I have a partner Nick and we all live here in Otaua on his parents farm. With beautiful views, friendly cows, chickens, pigs, sheep and of course our pet cats and dog we are so lucky to call this place home.

I have worked as an unqualified teacher for almost 6 years in centres but I cant wait to start my in home care journey!

I believe in allowing children to explore their world through play, open ended resources allowing their imagination to flow and getting in touch with their natural world.... this can get messy at times as I truly believe in allowing children to explore the natural materials around them including mud, sand, bark and water. However, I also believe in boundaries, rules and routines. This allows children to have expectations of their day and know what is happening as well as having guidance on respecting their environment, people and animals.

I love working with children and watching them grow, develop and learn new things. It is so exciting to see children persevere and finally finish the task they thought was impossible. The look of pride on their face is what I live for!
