Has everyone read the newsletter? Important notice about the Kapa Haka performance on December 3rd - tickets close Thursday!!!!

(Taken from the last Ōtaki School newsletter)
Kapa Haka performance at Civic Theatre
Get in before Thursday to guarantee your ticket!

Due to Takiri o te Ata being cancelled this year because of Covid, we have secured the Ōtaki Civic Theatre for our tamariki to perform on Friday 3rd of December. The show will start at 11am, with a second show at 12pm if there is demand. Each group will perform for roughly 15 minutes each so it'll take 35-40 minutes in total.

Due to Covid restrictions, our audience is limited to 100 people for each show. As a result, we are limiting tickets to two tickets per whānau, with a first in first served waitlist created where whānau can request more tickets if they would like, which will be allocated depending on demand.

Tickets are a gold coin donation which will go towards the koha that we give to the Civic Theatre for the use of it. We will also gladly accept any koha on the day which will go towards our kapa haka groups for their performance next year at Takiri o te Ata.

In order to secure the tickets for your whānau, please get your tamaiti to see Aroha in the office (or see her yourself, wearing a mask ;) ) with the gold coin koha per ticket. If you would like to go on the waitlist you can also let Aroha know at that time how many tickets you would like for that. Please note that phone or email bookings can't be taken.

The two tickets per whānau will be on hold until the afternoon of Thursday 26th November (we have a Teacher's Only Day on the Friday). After that, those requesting waitlist tickets will be contacted and given the opportunity to buy those.

The staff are as disappointed as anyone at all of the cancellations of sports and cultural events that have taken place over the last couple of years, and the cancellation of Takiri is no exception. We're thrilled however that our tamariki still have the opportunity to show everything that they've been learning to their whānau, albiet potentially in a more limited capacity.

We would love to be able to hold performances in the evening, and pack out the theatre full of people so that everyone who wants to see the show is able to, but unfortunately that's just not possible in the environment that we're in so we just have to do the best we can.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding in these pretty difficult times.
