We had Pukaea capturing some of our mahi alongside Te Kura o Te Paroa. The conditions were perfect and the Moana was stunning. Another enjoyable day had by all.

Our first group from Te Kura o Te Paroa learning some new life skills, tying their own rigs, casting, fishing and paddling on the water. A good sized kahawai was landed by one of the kotiro 🙌 An enjoyable day was had by all. Thank you to Upokorehe Kaitiaki and Hilton Rangiahua from the Ministry of Fisheries for giving us a kōrero on limits, sizing and how to be a good kaitiaki.

Day 2 vibes with 🙌
Big growth in just two days.
Future moana explorers learning skills that last a lifetime. 🌊🤿 We can’t wait to see them transfer their skills to the Moana. Keep up the awesome mahi tauira mā.

Today we kicked off our Pakihikura ki Tai Wānanga Ruku with an awesome crew of rangatahi from Tarawera High School. Straight into it- learning the foundations, building confidence in the wai, and building connections with the moana.

Already seeing the potential in this group and we’re excited to watch their skills and mindset grow over the next few sessions.
