A huge thank you to the Upper Manuherikia Young Farmers Club for their incredibly generous donation of $500 to our Playcentre 💛

We are always so blown away by the support from our local community it truly means the world to us and our tamariki.

We are very lucky to have such a great group of young farmers right here. They are always so quick to lend a hand, whether it’s helping out with fundraisers or supporting local events. That kind of community spirit doesn’t go unnoticed!

For those who may not know, NZ Young Farmers is a non-profit organisation focused on connecting, nurturing, and empowering young people throughout rural communities. Woven into the fabric of the food and fibre sector, their clubs are an amazing place to build leadership skills, meet like-minded people, and make friends for life.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, this is your sign reach out or head along to one of their meetings and be part of an awesome club!

Thank you again for your kindness and ongoing support 💜

Thinking about joining our Playcentre? Don’t wait and miss out on all the great reasons to come along!

Our ever growing Playcentre whānau is one of the coolest around!!
Its a place where tamariki can explore, create, and dive headfirst into all the glitter, paint, and messy fun…without you finding a never ending trail of it through your house later! 🤣
It’s also the perfect place for little ones to build friendships before heading off to big school, while you connect with other parents and find your village.

Come along and see what we’e all about we’d love to meet you!

Drop in and see us on session
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
9am – 1pm

Bring the tamariki, have a cuppa, and join our Playcentre whānau.
We hope to see you soon!

As tamariki explore with their hands and bodies, they develop their motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Messy Play Week is a great opportunity for your tamaiti to master new skills and gain confidence in their bodies.

Studies show that the benefits for early development lie in the open-ended nature of play, as children follow their own creative processes, practise new skills, solve problems, and share with others.

Come along and boost their physical development during Messy Play Week at your local Playcentre.

2nd - 6th March

Please make sure to not wear your sunday best clothing to session and bring another change of clothes for your tamariki to allow them to fully embrace the mess!

Playcentre provides a space for children and parents to play, learn, and grow together, and so seeks to strengthen that primary relationship.

“… these early years are important. The majority of brain development occurs from conception to age one and continues at a rapid pace through the first few years. Very young babies learn to respond to the world through their relationship with their caregivers.”
Brainwave Trust, New Zealand

Did you know playcentre welcomes kids of all ages? From 0-6years.
We love to see the new babies in the community come join us. 🧸

Its not just for the kids though Playcentre, particularly in rural settings provide parents with much needed community support and friendships, while children are also creating bonds and experiencing an educative benefit. ☕️

Not sure if this is your vibe? Why not come and join us, no pressure we welcome you for 3 visits before enrolling!
We are on session Mondays Tuesdays & Thursdays 9am- 1pm.
Come find your village 💛💜

The Upper Manuherikia Young Farmers Club Annual Bark Up is back!

- The Vulcan St Bathans
- 24th January
- Registrations from 5pm
- First bark up kicks off at 6pm

What’s a Bark Up?
If you’ve never been to one, you’re in for a laugh. A Bark Up is a lighthearted, good-humoured event with different categories for entry.
This year has the following categories

Working dogs
Team of 3
Humans / Kids pretending to be dogs (yes, really 😂)

It’s all about community spirit, having a laugh, and supporting great causes.

The best news the Young Farmers have generously decided to donate all profits from the Humans/kids category entry fees to our Playcentre, which we’re incredibly grateful for.

We love that it’s a family friendly event the kids absolutely love getting amongst the dogs and showing off their own “barking” skills too!
So bring the kids, bring the dogs, bring your best bark (or worst 😜) and come along for a fun evening.

Hope to see you all there!! 🐾
