Jackie Brown Training Group-JBTG

Jackie Brown Training Group-JBTG We run skills development courses which take an activity based approach to raising learners' awareness about employer expectations and the working environment.

This has been developed in response to an increasing national focus on work related learning. At JBTG we offer a range of online courses for adults in the Bay of Plenty to help adults achieve vocational requirements, improve their English and maths skills, and boost their chances of finding work, upskilling or advancing their career. The purpose of this proposal is to train our youth on how to imp

rove their soft skills. Soft skills play an important role in hiring our unemployed youth, both Maori and non-Mäori need to gain self-awareness of their strengths and improvement opportunities, thus developing their blind spots and valuing themselves. Pre – employment training which includes but not limited to:
• Customer service skill
• Communication
• Personal presentation (dressing for success)
• Problem-solving
• Resilience and confidence building
• Team building and leadership skills
• Time-keeping and behaviours.
• Budgeting skills

A well-designed training programme provided by JBTG will allow your company or your schools improve their young client’s proficiencies in these areas without the overhead of hiring internal trainers. Our unique blend of industry knowledge and training experience makes us uniquely qualified to administer training courses on behalf of any company. Together our facilitators have accumulated over 80 years of training in personal development, customer service, communication skills, business administration, tourism and hospitality and event management and airline and travel management. Our aim, throughout the delivery of your specifically designed pre employment programme (PEP) course, is create the right positive and motivated clients to better support their future employment. Our tailored package will improve the skills levels and understanding of the expectations of employers before they even arrive for their work placement and drive commitment whilst in employment by introducing the clients to employment, including taster sessions delivered by specialists on-site. By designing, delivering and evaluating our programme in partnership with young people, for young people we are ensuring we address the cultural needs of rangatahi. So today i am in Kawerau, setting up for a 3 week “changing lanes” empowerment program , not quite Thailand, no cocktails, no laying by the pool and definitely no shopping, but still an exciting adventure and creating changes in our women. There’s strength in numbers, and when women stand together, we can change our worlds and the world.

Helllo Everybody who has joined this page, sorry we have been a bit quiet but what we ended up doing was opening pages for each community we were delivering the program to. That’s got a little bit out of hand so I’m going back to use this central page.
So what’s new, this year I am running early 4 courses They will be in Tokoroa starting on 13 February, then I go onto opotiki, whakatane and kawerau. So if you have any friends or family living in those areas who are, unemployed and on a benefit give them my email address and I can happily have a chat to them. Sadly for me, but happily for Hope, she is back on the road as a tour guide, I will miss working with her.
I am still doing my overseas trips to Thailand, and have now added Mexico for bariatric surgery which has been fun. Life is never boring!!!!
