It has been such an honour to run the Ōamaru Oamaru Language School for the past 6 years, to meet and support our local community members on their journey to learn our reo. --Te Reo 101: 5:30pm Tuesdays. $100 for 10 classes. An introductory class for beginners that covers some basic structures, questions and vocabulary.
--Te Reo 102: 6:30pm Tuesdays. $100 for 10 classes. An ongoing intermediate level class for tauira who have completed Te Reo 101.
Classes are limited to 20 tauira per class so register today!

Te Reo 102: an ongoing class for students with 10 or more weeks of previous study 6:30pm on Tuesdays
Reo Rumaki: full immersion Te Reo class for students who are able to speak at a conversational level 5:30pm Mondays

Te Whare Koa Marae is proud to launch our pilot Hotaka Tamariki programme in partnership with the Ōamaru Language School and sponsorship by NZ Lotteries funding.

It will run in the second week of school holidays from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday July 10-14. The cost is $200 per child for the full week programme including meals, transport, facilitators and resources for activities.

Engaging children ages 4-12 in learning te reo Māori through waiata, kēmu, and kaupapa Māori, as well as tikanga and other aspects of Te Ao Māori. Excursions include Matariki activities at the library, museum and art gallery, as well as the great outdoors. Transportation and kai provided. Spaces are limited.

In Term 2 we will be offering the following 3 classes at Te Whare Koa Marae (19 France Street):

Te Reo 101: Beginner Class Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm from 2 May - 27 June. Cost = $90 for 9 classes
Te Reo 102: Intermediate Class Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm from 2 May - 27 June. This class is for students with 1 term or more of previous study. Cost = $90 for 9 classes
Reo Rumaki: Immersion Class Mondays 5:30-6:30pm from 24 April - 26 June. This class is for students at a conversational level. Cost = $100 for 10 classes.
