And that’s a wrap on our miniball and basketball season for 2026! Congrats to all of our Ardgowan players. You showed wonderful sportsmanship and love for the game. A special mention to team Titans who placed 4th overall in the year 7/8! And to all of our amazing coaches, we couldn’t have done this without you-Thank you!

This week, our school proudly celebrated Tongan Language Week and the rich culture, language, and traditions of Tonga.

A special thank you to Manase from Room 2, who shared his knowledge and pride in his Tongan culture and language with us. We loved learning more about what makes Tonga so special.

We were also fortunate to be treated to a wonderful cultural performance by Pasifika students from WGHS, who showcased their talents and helped bring the celebrations to life.

To finish the week, our School Leaders planned a Tongan-themed Whānau Time, where students explored Tongan culture, language, and traditions through a variety of engaging activities.

Congratulations to Iyla on placing 3rd in the recent Lions Club Speech Competition!

This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to her confidence, preparation, and public speaking skills. What makes it even more impressive is that she accomplished this while balancing the demands of rehearsals for Musical Theatre.

We are proud of Iyla's dedication, hard work, and determination. Well done, Iyla!

On Friday the our Year 8 students meet with other Year 8 students from the Waitaki rural schools for our annual Hikoi. We visited 3 spots in Mōeraki to learn about local history and also spend time getting to know each other in preparation for high school. It was a beautiful day and everyone enjoyed this trip a lot.
