On Friday, we celebrated a very special milestone for six of our students — Amelia Balcombe, Corban MacDonald, Emily Chen, Olivia Devlin, and Tahlia Sanford — who received the Sacrament of Baptism right here at St Kevin's College. 🕊️✨
Congratulations to each of you on this beautiful, faith-filled occasion. May the Holy Spirit walk with you always. We are incredibly proud of your journey!
Following the ceremony, our college community gathered on the Magee Lawn for a celebratory picnic as part of our Feast Day festivities. 🧺☀️
Thank you to Mr Mawson, Miss Buckham, Alice Guy, Georgia Moore and Amelia Hoets for capturing the day.

On Thursday 6 August, our new cohort of International students headed out on their first Marine Science trip of the term!
Our day began with a River Study of the Kakanui River, where students examined local invertebrates as key bioindicators of river health. After a sunny morning tea break at Coast Cafe—where the group got to try delicious kūmara chips for the very first time—we made our way down to the coast.
At Campbell's Bay, students explored the local beach geology and rock formations, followed by a quick scout of Catseye Point to prepare for an upcoming Rocky Shore study.
It was a fantastic day filled with sunshine, hands-on learning, and great discoveries! A big thank you to Claire Elliot for her wonderful assistance, and to Coast Cafe in Kakanui for hosting us and keeping us fueled with hot chips. ☀️🌊
