Today, our schoool came together to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of St Mary!
We kicked off our special day with a beautiful liturgy, thoughtfully prepared and led by Miss Mackenzie and C1 Whānau. Afterwards, students got creative with some fantastic St Mary's Day art projects, and of course we all enjoyed some delicious cupcakes to celebrate! 🎨🧁
A big thank you to Miss Mackenzie and C1 Whānau for setting such a meaningful tone for our celebrations.
Congratulations our students who had week 4 certificates!

A big thank you to Mrs. Williams Whānau from C3 for leading our liturgy today! We all learned what it means to be a 'saint next door', reminding us that we can all show sainthood simply through kindness, love, and care.
Congratulations to all of today’s certificate winners!👏👏👏

Nau mai, haere mai!
Yesterday, we gathered for our second Mihi Whakatau of the year to officially welcome our new students, staff, and whānau into our community.
A Mihi Whakatau is a traditional Māori welcome, bringing us all together as one community. To our newcomers: you are no longer guests you are now part of our whānau.
A huge thank you to everyone who made yesterday so special, from those who spoke and sang, to everyone who helped prepare the kai afterward.
We are so excited to watch our new students and staff grow, learn, and thrive with us. Welcome aboard! ❤️

Due to the poor weather forecast for this Friday, we have made the decision to postpone our St Mary's School Matariki Breakfast.
We want this to be a warm, comfortable, and enjoyable celebration for all of our families, so we are shifting the event to next week.
Here are the new details:
New Date: Tuesday, 30 June 2026
Same Time: 7:30am
Same Location: St Mary's School, under the canopy
The plan remains the same for our community feast! Each class will still be bringing their designated food contributions, just on Tuesday morning instead. Thank you so much to everyone who has already organized their items.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We look forward to gathering together next Tuesday to share some wonderful kai and celebrate the Māori New Year as a school whānau.
Wrap up warm, stay dry this Friday, and we will see you next week!
