Saturday night the awa gets lit up. Food trucks + your precinct favourites with us from 5pm this Saturday Enjoy a hot feed before you head down to the awa or earn it first and follow the lights back up to us afterwards.

Bring the whānau, bring a torch, we'd love to see you.

Kia ora Caring Kids Whaanau

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Pop. He passed on Wednesday morning, surrounded by his family.

Pop is Narni's husband and one of the Directors of Caring Kids. Narni has been away from Caring Kids for the past few months, caring for him as he navigated the final stages of terminal cancer.

We know it is short notice, but there will be a church service for Pop today (Friday 21st), 1-2 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1 Albert Place, Ngaruawahia.

All Caring Kids whaanau (past or present) who can make it are welcome to attend; there is no dress code (you don’t need to wear black).

Pop loved our Caring Kids whaanau, and he was such a big part of our centre - mowing the lawns, sharing his long Matariki and Christmas event korero, and waking up the sleepers with his loud voice and hearty laugh.

You will be missed Pop - rest in peace (or loud laughter)!

Certificated Teacher Vacancy (30+ hours)

We’re seeking an amazing kaiako for a 12-month maternity leave position at our mixed-aged centre in Ngaruawahia, Waikato.

If you want to work in a warm and welcoming home-like environment where manaakitanga and whanaungatanga are key in developing relationships with our children and their whaanau, we would love to hear from you.

Our curriculum celebrates the benefits of play and we make good use of the natural wonders right at our doorstep with a weekly bush kindy program and regular community outings.

Vacancies close on the 20th of December 2024.

The start date is negotiable, ideally beginning at the end of January 2025 or early February. We operate from 8am-4.30pm, and there is some flexibility in hours including the possibility of school hours or up to 40 hours.
