UPDATE: Ngaio Kindergarten is closed tomorrow (Tues 21st April) due to severe weather.
If the weather continues, as it is predicted to and it looks too unsafe for kaiako and whānau to travel to kindy tomorrow (Tues) we will let you know here and via Story park. At this stage we are still planning to be open but the call will be made early in the morning if that changes. Please check here for updates.

This week we welcomed our new Head Kaiako Erin to Ngaio Kindergarten with a Mihi Whakatau.
The tamariki were a big part of the ceremony to welcome Erin and were very interested in the process.

As part of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, we have started a mural of Haumiatiketike. The tamariki noticed we didn't have Haumiatiketike on our walls, so they led the project and planned everything from size, colours and what it should look like.

On Saturday September 20 (the day after Suffrage day) there's a day to celebrate women and campaign for pay equity. The government scrapped 33 pay equity claims under urgency and changed the law to entrench the pay gap earlier this year. There'll be a march to parliament from Midland Park leaving at 10.30, a rally at parliament and activities for the whole family at St Paul's Cathedral across the road from parliament. Come along with your family!
