Fitzroy School are the 2026 Div 1 Interschool Football Champions.
What a match! Our team played with incredible intensity for the full 50 minutes. The skills, game sense, teamwork, and attitude on display were outstanding. A massive thank you to Coach Andy, your quality coaching and positive impact on the team have truly helped develop such great skill sets.
It was a real nail-biter against a tough Oakura side, but we held strong and scored the winning goal in extra time to take the game 2-1!
We are incredibly proud of every single member of the team and their effort and heart shown during the game. Congratulations Lads.

Look at our new rugby posts! A huge shout out to Anchor Taranaki who have supported the installation of new rugby goal posts at Fitzroy School. They look amazing kitted up with our new pads as well. Mr Luckin has a huge smile on his face. Thanks also to Chad Niwa who installed them for us. Once the new soil settles down around the posts we know they’ll be bombarded.

Local dietitian, health educator and author Kendall North recently visited Fitzroy School to read Kai’s Big Food Discovery to our tamariki. She also shared some of Kai’s learning resources about hydration, poo, hunger and fullness.

Through Kai’s adventure, our tamariki discovered how food supports their energy, growth, learning, feelings, relationships and everyday lives.

This is not a traditional children’s nutrition book. Rather than telling children what they should or should not eat, it encourages curiosity, body awareness and food confidence. It helps children understand that food is about so much more than nutrients, and that all foods can have a place.

It is a thoughtful resource for parents who want to help their children build a positive and trusting relationship with food from an early age.

Books and learning resources can be purchased at KaiTheKiwi.co.nz and delivered to Fitzroy School for collection. Please add "Fitzroy School and child's name and classroom number" to the note section upon purchasing.

For every 10 books purchased through our school, Fitzroy School will receive a free copy for our library.

ASSEMBLY CANCELLED TODAY - Due to high winds we have made the decision to cancel school assembly today.

School is open today. The front entrance of school is closed this morning due to strong winds. For safety reasons, please enter the school on Sackville or Clemow road. Students can come straight into classes when they arrive. Sorry, Hero isn’t working this morning.
