✨This year, the tamariki of Frankley School | Te Kura o Kahikatea have been entrusted with the taonga of sharing their understanding of Matariki mā Puanga with the wider community of Ngāmotu.
Ngā Whetū o Matariki mā Puanga is a large-scale collaborative installation created by every student in the kura. Through creativity, learning and connection, the tamariki have explored the stars of Matariki and Puanga, bringing their ideas together in a powerful collective artwork.
This installation reflects the voices, experiences and aspirations of our next generation, and we are proud to share it with our community.
Over the coming weeks, while the exhibition is open, we’ll share more of the whakaaro, stories and inspiration behind the artwork.

Office Administrator – Frankley School
Frankley School is a place where we live by our vision:
Tū kaha, Tū manaaki, Tū ako (Courageous Caring Learner).
We are looking for an Office Administrator who doesn’t just "do the job" but truly cares about our community.
What the day-to-day looks like:
You’ll be the first person people see when they walk through our doors. One minute you might be welcoming a new family or helping a child with a scraped knee, and the next you’ll be managing school accounts, updating Hero, or prepping minutes for a Board meeting. It’s busy, it’s varied, and no two days are the same.
We’re looking for someone who:
Genuinely enjoys people and brings a warm, professional vibe to the front desk.
Is willing to weave Te Reo Māori and Tikanga into their daily work naturally.
Is a bit of a "systems whiz"—comfortable to learn and implement things like EdPay, ENROL, and school finances.
Can keep a cool head and maintain total confidentiality when things get busy.
Is proactive—you see what needs doing and you get it done.
The Details:
Hours: 33.20 hours per week (8:30 am – 3:30 pm), Monday to Friday.
Schedule: Term-time only (40 weeks a year, plus one week before school starts).
We take the safety of our tamariki seriously, so the successful applicant will need to undergo a full safety check and Police vet as per the Children’s Act 2014.
How to apply:
Please email our Principal for a job description and google application form: [email protected]
Applications close on Friday 12 June at 12pm.

A massive thank you to our SFRC team and whānau.
I just wanted to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to our amazing SFRC team and whānau for everything you did to pull off Friday’s games night.
Seeing the room full of so much laughter and creativity was just awesome—from the hobby horse races to the intensity of the bingo, stories behind the creations and quiz questions!
The effort teams put into the dress-ups making it more fun and the generosity during the raffles and auctions was awesome to see. It’s nights like these that really show what a healthy community looks like.
While raising money is a great result, the best part for me was seeing everyone just enjoying each other's company and being together. It’s all about those connections, and I honestly couldn't be prouder of our community and the spirit everyone brought to the night.
Thanks for being such a legend of a team and making it all happen!
Ngā manaakitanga
Sarah
