Another of our young artists retold his favourite Bible story using pen and dye. He has done a great job of showing us the difference in size between David and Goliath. In the picture David is on the left side and is holding his bag with 3 stones in it. What was your favourite Bible story when you were a child?

*Deconstructing an old stereo invited scientific curiosity and excitement. Each screw that was removed led to new discoveries as our children learnt from the inside out how everyday objects work.

When the sun shines through the stained glass window that our children painted, it creates this lovely reflection on the floor in our family area.

We have the Head Teacher or qualified teacher position available- full-time permanent.

Newly opened in January 2026 - NP Christian Preschool is located at 66 Buller St Central. We are looking for a Qualified Head Teacher and/or an experienced qualified teacher for a full-time permanent position. Must have a level 7 qualification. Experience with Christian curriculum in either church ministry or preschool is critical for this position. The applicant must already be located in New Zealand. Please indicate your relevant experience and aspirations for which position in your cover letter.

The centre has a license for 40 children from 2-6 years old, open and operating 49 weeks per year from 8.30am to 3.30pm.

The visual arts offer a wonderful medium for our tamariki to revisit and share with others their favourite Bible stories. Can you tell which familiar story is told in each picture?

At NPCP we love to support our childrens ideas. When they lead their own learning they are motivated, creative and engaged. Here we see one of our tamariki strengthening his numeracy skills when he had the great idea of making his own ruler. Our kaiako rolled out a very long piece of paper and our tamariki carefully copied out the numbers from the ruler onto the paper. To make his ruler even longer he cut his paper in half lenghtways then rejoined it. What a lot of things he could now measure with a ruler that was 3 meter long!

Monday is going to be all about Teddy Bears at our preschool. Our kaiako have set up some lovely invitations to play, learn and explore.

Every sunny morning when our tamariki wash their hands there is this lovely little rainbow of light in the bottom of their sink. 🌈
