Taranaki Music Education Centre Taranaki Music Education Centre is the only centre in Taranaki that caters for all your music tuitio We teach students from the age of 2yrs old to 90 yrs old.

Taranaki Music Education Centre was established in 1999 to create a musical creative centre where all could meet and learn the various instruments be it modern or classical. Excellence in music and the preservation of the love of music is our goal. Our founder started music when she was 3 years old with Joseph Papesch who was friends with Dr Suzuki (Japan) founder of the Suzuki method and she was one of a few children that the two friends tried the theories of Talent Education. Therefore many of the principles of the teaching methods are derived from the original "Suzuki Method", before the commercialisation of it. We offer international examinations in Music and Music Theory with ABRSM and Rockschool, London. Music Lessons are offered in Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Bass Guiitar, Piano, Keyboards, Violin, Recorder, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Harp, Singing, Vocals, Drumkit, Snare Drum, Theory, Aural Training and NCEA School Music. Music lessons are usually done on an individual basis, however sometimes we do offer workshops in beginner guitar, piano, vocal and drums. These workshops are elementary and from these the student can progress to individual lessons. Students can begin at any time during the year tho if possible it is always good to start at the beginning of a term. Usually we have two or three recitals during the year and finally finishing with the end of year Presentation and Christmas Concert. Students of all levels and ages perform at the recitals and concerts as it is important to share the knowledge that they have gained throughout the Term. The recitals and concerts are open to all the students family and friends. Last year the Taranaki Music Education Centre was made the Official Examination Centre for Rockschool, London. Students travel from all over Taranaki to come to TMEC. So we would love you to enrol for music lessons today and join the Centre.
