All For Charity

Tuesday 26th October 7.00pm

New Plymouth West Rotary Club invites you to The Good Home for an evening which will focus on laughter and teamwork more than intellect.
While our club supports many other local needs, this event will also be raising funds for our ongoing support of Rotary’s “End Polio Now” campaign. Rotary’s challenge now is to eradicate the wild poliovirus in the two countries where the disease has never been stopped - Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Routine immunizations must also be strengthened in Africa to keep the virus from returning there.
Rotary has contributed more than $2.1 billion to polio eradication since it launched the PolioPlus program in 1985, and it is committed to raising $50 million each year for polio eradication activities. Because of a 2-to-1 matching agreement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation each year, $150 million goes toward fulfilling Rotary’s promise to the children of the world: No child will ever again suffer the devastating effects of polio.

The Good Home provides the venue free of charge so all funds go to our chosen projects.
They have also offered 3 prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place, (there must be a reason they call themselves The Good Home), plus a plate of sausage rolls for each team.

You may also choose to eat there prior to the quiz which starts at 7:00pm

So Round up Your Best Brains - go find that friend that always seems to know lots of trivial information…..it is their time to shine! Make up a team of about 6 friends, family or workmates and come along for a fun evening.

Each person in the team pays $10, with all of this money going directly towards helping Rotary projects.

Our longstanding member George Mason mentioned in this article. His charitable trust contributed the printing costs to the book.
Well done and thanks George.

Government's love for the aged has a bad ending Fussed over, isolated, vaccinated and supposedly loved, us oldies are still gonna cark it sooner or later, writes Jim Tucker.

The Men's Shelter is the recipient of this Freezer, funded by New Plymouth West Rotary, gratefully accepted by Peter Coles. He gave us a brief tour of the Shelter and a potted history of the ownership and operation. He and wife Kathryn obviously put a lot of time into the facility.

The Rotary club of NP West donated and committed over $30,000 this year to the local community. This woman deserves a drink.
