Balancing Together 🌿
Today the tamariki had lots of fun completing an outdoor balancing course together. They carefully stepped from one piece to the next, using their arms and bodies to help keep themselves balanced.
It was lovely to see everyone joining in, following one another and encouraging their friends along the way. This experience supported the children to develop their balance, coordination, confidence and gross-motor skills, while also learning to take turns and play alongside others.

Today the children enjoyed exploring the bubbly water together. They used the bubble wands to stir, scoop and make bubbles, while also experimenting with the foam shapes in the water 💦

This experience supported the children’s fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they carefully moved the wands and shapes. They were also developing curiosity, concentration and problem-solving skills as they explored what happened when they moved the bubbles in different ways.

It was lovely to see everyone learning alongside each other, sharing the space and enjoying this fun sensory experience together!

Our infants and toddlers have been busy exploring both indoors and outdoors. From climbing and moving their bodies to playing in the sand and discovering new toys, there have been lots of opportunities to learn through play 🌟

Building, Roads and Working Together 🧱🚗

Tamariki enjoyed exploring the wooden blocks and roads together. They used the blocks to create different buildings, pathways and spaces for their cars. It was lovely to see them sharing ideas, working alongside each other and using their imaginations.

Through this play, the tamariki were developing their problem-solving, creativity, spatial awareness and social skills, while learning to cooperate and share resources with their friends!

Our younger and older preschool tamariki have been busy working together to create our very own vegetable garden!

The children helped prepare the soil, dig little holes and carefully plant broccoli, silverbeet and spinach 🥦🥬🌱

It was lovely to see the younger and older children working alongside each other, helping, sharing and learning together. They are learning about Papatūānuku, caring for our environment and how our food grows.

Over the coming weeks, we will work together to water and care for our garden and watch for changes as our vegetables grow. We are looking forward to eventually picking and enjoying some yummy kai that we have grown ourselves!
